This is a great laptop for a great price. Being an UL30VT-A1 owner myself and owning numerous other Asus laptops, I'd say this series is one of the better Asus laptops currently manufactured.

For those on the verge of purchasing the UL30VT-A1, the Asus forum has a full range of information on this model.

Here's a some useful threads for reference:
    UL30 Backlit keyboard mod
    UL30VT CPU overclocking
    UL30 general Disassembly instructions

    I dunno about that...
I've purchased a handful of items on ebay with BCB and not one of them, so far, has been instant cash back.

woot! im so old! I might be more excited about the asus than i was for the dell. I plan on making the asus my linux only toy and get some good use out of it and finally keep my work separate from my play so I wont have to worry about corrupting files on different partitions or other stupid stuff :D

lol it was a good deal as far as im concerned, especially considering the battery life (and the overclocking if one needs it), now I just have to wait for my 40gb value intel ssd to come in, I hope it gets me another hour while destroying my boot up time. Though with a properly compiled linux kernels boot time is pretty minimal any way.

Edit: I almost went with a refurbished vostro v13, they look impressive, but since it only came with the core 2 solo at best and tops out at 5 hours of battery life I figured I should look around, and lo and behold, this sweet asus with a beautiful blend of power and mobility showed up with a sweet discount.
