Is this site legit?
-
There are too any ads imo. Try from 1toppc.cm
-
wait for the c90p bro, if you can.
-
it is a real site
-
well actually...if that's legit, that's a pretty sick price IMOP.
What about the future of the c90s? upgrade capabilities? Are there any or is Asus holding out? -
From a old slickdeal thread,i remember that they have price mistakes and dont honor them
-
It is a good deal
This company is at least in part a auction lowballer company and might have gotten a really good deal. -
It doesn't have a mobile proccessor ?
-- -
thats the point in the c90s. You can use Desktop processors in it. I hope this is a real price. I'm going to snatch it up if it is
-
it seems to imply it comes with an e6600
That part im very dubvious of. If it does then it is truly a steal really. -
yeah, this is a pretty ridiculous deal if it is real. it seems to come with a video card as well.

Unless you know exactly what you're doing, I really wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing it from that website. The C90s has just too many quirks for the average consumer to deal with.
1. The laptop heats up! The use of AS5 on the CPU and GPU is highly recommended. Most likely, they won't use AS5
2. Incompatible ram. The C90s only takes certain types, model and brand of ram. Only a reputable Asus reseller will test which rams will work for you.
3. Installation of drivers and OS. The system doesn't mention anything about an OS, so I'm assuming you'll have to purchase one yourself and install it along with all the drivers
4. Does it come with a wireless adapter?
5. Who is Maxnote? A search on google links it to Max Group. Many of their product links are broken. Sounds fishy to me.
6. 120W or 90W power adapter? Many of the newer C90s need a 120w power adapter to function properly, especially systems equipped with the GDDR3 GPUs.
I'd highly recommend sticking with gentechpc of btotech if you're considering to purchase a C90s. Having to deal with all the trouble later might not be worth it since it'll be extremely time consuming. -
well the price with the 120 gb and the e6600 would be around 1100-1200 that makes their claim to be about half off.
Is it used? Do they have only one? Do they take your deposit and not give it back for months like buy.com or something?
If they had some they are probably all sold by now. But I would like someone to try to tell me its real -
i emailed them and they said that it is barebones, no HD,CPU,Video Card
The one that isnt barebones is $1600
Here is the email:
Dear Nick,
Thank You for asking shopnex.com.
There are two notebooks which are very similar. The first notebook is item# NOMX005 (Maxnote C90S 15.4" Power NoteBook, Built on ASUS) with price $1,695.00; the second notebook is item# NOMX006 (Asus C90S 15.4 inch WSXGA+ Core 2 Duo w/ DVDRW Notebook Barebone Computer) with price $684.00.
The difference between NOMX005 and NOMX006 is: NOMX006 is a barebone Notebook without CPU, Memory, HDD, and Video Card; but NOMX005 has everything inculded.
Here are the two links for these notebooks:
