BEST BUY has the Dell Studio XPS 13 for $999.99 and the XPS 16 for $1099.99. Both systems start at $1199 on the Dell website, so these are pretty nice deals!

Yes, it's not a bad deal at all....I just wish it had the high-resolution display! :(

The Studio XPS 13 @ $999 is an even better deal!!! It's $200 cheaper than it is on the Dell website.

    Definitely not bad.

Is it me or have we not seen any incredible delas on notebooks lately? Sure we good ones once in a while here and there, but I'm looking for a killer system for like $600. I've done it before, but I just don't see anything like that anymore.

The trend lately seems to be cutting everyday prices to make a better overall value proposition. For instance, when HP and Toshiba replaced the T5800 processor with the brand new T6400 (and similarly, the T3200 with the T4200), the updated models, with very similar or identical specs to their predecessors, were given an MSRP of $100 or $120 less! For example, the Toshiba that retailed for $799 with the T5800 is now $679 with the T6400 (but otherwise identical).

It's a fact that consumer spending is signficantly down in all areas, notebook computers included. The rise of the netbook at the exact time when consumers are trying to spend less has certainly put some hurt on a lot of computer companies....especially ones without a successful netbook with a decent profit margin!

So, with the focus on making systems cheaper everyday and sales down everywhere, it probably just isn't in the budget for anyone to offer truly low-ball deals like we've seen in the past, from time to time....

Maybe those days of dirt cheap deals will return at some point in the future....fingers crossed!

Was the sale that good? I can't even find the 1330 on their site anymore.
