I have finally bought my dell! I choose to go with 1gig of ram, and will buy another 1gig from someplace else. So my question is where can I get the best deal on a 1gig stick?

I saw newegg had one for $25 but can't seem to find it now.

    USD prices please. :)

you will not need a 1gb stick but 2 1gb sticks if you want to get to 2gb. remember you have 2 slots currently filled with 2x512 sticks.

Yeah actually I read that after the fact. "1GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm"
I'm just going to buy a 2GB Stick, and end up with 2.5GB for now. Just need enough to get me up and running and that should do it for now.

I don't think these need to be installed in matching pairs.. ??

Nope. If they are different speeds, then one will just downclock.

To be honest, I would just go with 4GB (2x2GB) modules because that'll leave you room for future upgrades and if you ever decide to take the x64 path, you'll have the 'equipment' to follow. :)
