when would be the best time to buy a dell or ibm/lenovo, as in when they have their best sales? What is the biggest sale/coupon anyone has seen from either of htese two companies?

biggest coupon would be ~ 25% off for dell
biggest 'deal' i've seen from dell is early-morning, selling a laptop for probably $400 cheaper than usual, but limited sales

Dell will end sales of XP June 18th. Buy before the 19th if you want XP.

Depends on what type of laptop you want, high end, budget, whatever. The $529 Vostro 1400 is one of the best I've seen on that model for a base specs, but if you started add a lot to it get expensive. So if you want more than just close to the base model the best deal on that model I've seen was when they had $500 off of $1250. Your best bet is fill out the FAQ and then ask your buy now or wait question (although it's hard answer what the future holds even then).
