Searching for a specific laptop on Bing gives you a table of all e-sellers and a typically 5.00% rate for TigerDirect cashback. Searching for keyword "laptop" gives you sponsored site advertisements on the side/top of search results that give you a 12.1% cashback rate at TigerDirect. But I am not talking about just that. The 2 processes are completely different--Bing is either purposely making the 12.1% cashback unattainable by invalidating your purchase session, or TigerDirect.com just its own process for handling incoming Bing referrals.

I was logged in at Bing.com prior to both of these methods.

    A. Standard way of getting to TigerDirect from Bing:

    1. Notice the 5.00% listed for a specific item, and the 12.1% listed in the context ads on the right hand side. Yeah I know you can just click the 12.1% ad and navigate on TigerDirect's site, but that isn't what this is about.

    2. Interstitial session validation from Bing--Bing FAQ says this is crucial for you to receive Bing credit! Confirmed with Bing support.

    3. Price for a sample laptop item listed as $549.99. No mention of Bing cashback on product page. I guess you will eventually get your 5% thru the standard Bing process after checkout?

    B. The other way of getting to TigerDirect from Bing:

    1. Search for a hot keyword like "laptop", find TigerDirect in the ads. The Bing cashback rate may or may not be specified in the ad.

    2. NO INTERSTITIAL SESSION VALIDATION. From the Bing site, your click takes you directly to TigerDirect's homepage with no Bing login. Does Bing know you're now using them to shop at TigerDirect?

    3. Price for the sample laptop item listed as $549.99, but with a conspicuous "Bing cashback" price listed immediately below: $66.55 makes out to be exactly 12.1%. Here it seems TigerDirect knows you were referred from Bing, but will Bing respect your purchase as valid since you never hit the crucial interstitial login page?

Any help in clarifying this would be appreciated in anticipation of helping all us here save some extra bucks come August 10th. :)

    ( i am using 2nd method of 12.1% cashback)
at the check out page, there is a box which you have to put your *bing cash back* email, also there is a box which you have to check in order to receive *bing* cash back(which sends your email address to MS). Regarding Aug 10th double cash back, i think bing will double *default* cash back which is currently 5% (will be 10% starting Aug 10th?). Special promo which is 12.1% goes up and down, regardless of default 5%.
