I followed the link. How do you get the price down to 700? Or this price is only available on Black Friday?

If you upgrade it with the better screen or anything else will the discount still be available? Or you should stick with that fixed config?

The $699 model, and almost all of Dell's Catalog and Sale configurations are "starting/base configurations". You can configure them with upgrades and they will still retain the discount (in this case, $245). If you selected the 1440x900 LED display for $125 more, and no other upgrades- it'd be $824 (still $245 off).

Unfortunately, all of the starting configurations have the WXGA 1280x800 display standard- but it is LED-backlit now, even at the base resolution.

Here is another Studio 15 model you might be interested in- $899 (after $270 instant savings). It includes a lot of extras, though- 2.26GHz Intel P8400 processor, ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3450 discrete graphics card, 320GB Hard Drive (vs. 250GB), Intel 5100AGN wireless card, Back-lit Keyboard AND Fingerprint Reader. The display is a 1280x800 LED-backlit, same as the $699 model. Link- http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?cs=19&kc=6F967&oc=DNPCUY4&x=13&y=9

Also take a look the "Artist Edition" Studio 15 for $849 (after $309 instant savings). It has a 2.2GHz Intel T5900, ATI HD 3450 graphics, 320GB Hard Drive, Intel 5100AGN and 15mos McAfee, Trend Micro or Norton Security included- http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=dndora8&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&kc=productdetails~laptop-studio-1537

The deal is nice, probably better than a dv5 right now, considering the standard WLED screens. :)

I noticed that in the dell coupon session, this ad also said that this studio 15 comes with T9400 processor for only $700... or did I understand it wrong?

The person who posted that deal incorrectly noted the T9400 in the specs, so you read correctly......but what you read was erroneous! :(

This configuration has the 2.0GHz Intel T5800 standard....but the T9400 is optional for $300!

    Hi everyone-
I clicked the "Buy Now" button, configured the laptop but when I applied the code, Dell said it was an invalid code. Anyone been able to make this coupon work?
    Thanks

...hmmm...i guess the text in the coupon stating it expires on 12/3 at 11:59:59 means nothing....okay....
