I've saved a bit of money to spend on either black friday / cyber monday, but which one is better to save for? Granted, if I find a good deal on friday, I'll go straight for it, but if not, then I'll obviously save for moday :)
    Thanks

In 10/07 was when I started looking for my lappy...I decided to wait til Black Friday to see if I could find *in store deals*.

Well, I perused the Black Friday ads, and at that time just decided to pass that by! There were some good deals out there, but at that time I had my mind set on an Inspiron 1420 or 1520 ;)

Plus, I didn't want to deal with standing in the lines with the *crazed crowds* of peep's, that go insane over Black Friday in the area I live

Cyber Monday, also brought some good deals. In the end, I waited til January and found the lappy for me. Choicewise, I prob's would've went w/Black Friday! :)

Here are a few site's, you can check Black Friday deals w/leaked ads:

    Black Friday @ GottaDeal.com:
    http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/

    Black Friday 2008 @ bfads..
    http://bfads.net/

There are more sites out there..but these 2 seem to be the most popular!

And, I guess some *ads* are already rollling in ...Not even November, yet! LOL

    Good luck,

    Cin.

Im done with black friday, 3 years ago I got a great deal. Best Buy had 1/2 off on my home theater speakers that I now use.

Last year it was a massive wait, somebody blocked me in so I could not leave the store, and they had NOTHING GOOD. Infact the only item I was interested in at all was this very good price on a 1TB external HDD and I found out from some of the more honest store employees that they never had any of them in the first place. (2 people lied to me and said somebody else must have already gotten them.. when I was one of the first 20 in the door)

Plus I am simply too broke this year to get any of the good high dollar items worth getting anyways so I gotta sit back and not join the chaos this year.

Yup...and so agreed..in my town..it's *crazy insane*, and each year it gets worse.

So, I stay away...and sleep in :) :) Then watch the news at 12pm and see how crazy peep's really got! Sometimes good deals, sometimes not!

But now, with some of the stores..what you see in the BF ads, you can order online at their website :D

Yup! Peruse the ads...then order what you want online in the comfort of your own! :) :) That's what I like!

You will prob's find some good deals on that for Black Friday!

Last year....(I don't know if this is *bad* to say)???? If it is...I'm sorr's. We stopped at Walmart after the crazyness subsided....I was in the Electronics dept. and found sitting there on a shelf, the Portable DVD player/case that was sold out w/in minutes of opening.

So, I bought it at the BF price, and listed it on Ebay..and it sold ~ for a really great price (then what I had purchased it for!) :) :)

Cant beat me when I got BF2142 It came with a free booster pack that was nothing more than a code for a weapon skin and a usb dogtag flash drive.

Was totally free, came with the pre-order of the game.

    Game cost $50

I sold the booster pack on ebay as an auction for $90 lol.

Free game + $40, took the $40 and got a year sub at gamespot so I could download the beta client and play early and all that jazz.

I enjoy going to stores on black friday. Especially driving around in the parking lots where people are camping out. Although last year I ended up working at Target on black friday.

I hope they pay extra if you work in a store on black friday.

Im definitely not going out this year tho, last time it was too rough plus with the economy being the way it is right now I think there will be more sales before/after the actual day and more things online too.

Are you going to work this BFriday???

I too, think the economy make drag Black Friday just a bit....except for those crazed Black Friday early, early risers!!!

It's all what you can get online anyways! :)

My wife does the black friday thing. She wakes up at 3am or something to stand in line for OK deals. Me I stay in bed and pay little more but retain my sanity. As for retail vs online, the gap has closed the past year or so to where buying online no longer has an extreme price difference. Basically if I can find it in a store thats my choice, but then again there are certain things I HAVE to buy online and laptops are one of those things.

Yup.... ;) My friends Mum and her crazed *friends* get together like a week before and pour over the leaked ads..and plan their early Morning..of standing in line at the stores where the best deals are ;) :)

They really enjoy doing it...It's all a matter of personal choice! ;) :)

I like my sanity, so like you...I stay home and relax with whatever I am doing at that given time! ;) :) Paper, Coffee, breakast...etc :)

Depends if there are any good deals on stuff I need haha. If I can save more than I would make working then I wont work haha. Or I'll just work and NOT spend money. I hate spending money

Yeps on that! And, some are already being released! :)

And, Walmart has already sent out their legal notices to the sites with the BF Ads..to cease from releasing the BF ad til 11/24/08 this year!

They did the same thing last year! To each their own...

You may want to click those links I added at top for the Black Friday sites, and check them every-so-often between now and BF. ;) :)

Yes, I know that Dell does...and they usually have some sweet deals going on during that time, regardless! :) :) I think last year there was a $$ off, and gift card promo, also! :) But that was then...

No one can really tell right now..but as the date gets closer, the deals will be leaked on the net Cyber Monday sites, along with Black Friday sites. ;)

Thing is, if you see a really good deal now...sometimes it's best to jump on it! It's almost a win/win or lose/lose situation, as with Technology...the deals are everchanging! ;)

I want to build a HTPC, so if they go low enough dell may actually finally get some of my money instead of me building my own with the Media Center Hybrid or the Media Center Slim.

I doubt they will go low enough though to make it a better deal than me just egging it. I already picked parts for about $300 that beat there $600 hybrid.
