    You guys are a lot braver than I am. I have purchased many things on Ebay, mostly lower cost items like accessories and model planes, but I would be really concerned if buying a laptop. I know that most sellers are honest, and the feedback system gives some peace of mind, but I have just heard too many bad stories.

    Bravo, however, to the honest sellers on Ebay.

    The auctions get canceled fairly quickly. Just be on the look out for obvious signs of a scam, like those shown in the screenshot. eBay is not a bad place to buy from, you just need to be cautious and always use a CC or bank account as a funding source. Never should you use your PayPal balance.

    Pay directly from our bank card? But paypal insures the protection. If we pay directly from our band account then whats the use of paypal??

    No, I mean when using PayPal only use your bank account or CC as the funding source. With both, you can dispute the charge with someone either then PayPal.
