I just bought this machine last week for $849 w/ $150 in rebates, for a total price of $699. CC has now added an extra $50 in rebates to made the total $649. I think the machine is a steal at that price. Here are the specs:

    AMD Semprom 2800+ CPU
    512MB RAM
    60GB HD (4200RPM)
    DL DVDRW/CDRW Drive

It's a new configuration of an old machine (ze2000z), but at a really nice price. It was everything I was looking for at a great price, and is working out pretty well for me right now.

Yup...I sent in for the $50 mfr rebate as well as $100 from CC (which is what they were offering on this machine last week). CC has since upped their rebate to $150 (so I missed out on $50 I guess), and the HP rebate is still in effect as well. Great deal, I think.

    Hello!

I just bought my HP ze2113us last Saturday during Circuit City's weekend sale. I still think the laptop was a good deal with the rebate, plus the $300 gift card i received for buying my Sony LCD tv. Anyway, i was disappointed to see that it does not have a "firewire port" for my ipod, and it also seems pretty plain. I was also wondering why the brochure inside has the laptop illustraded as having "firewire" and another port i can't name. Was this an error on their part? Or did i get the wrong laptop?

I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and disappointment as me.

Also, what kind of firewire card do you recommend for this laptop? I saw some on ebay, but they looked too bulky. Thank you!! :hp:

The firewire & media card reader are optional components. So they might not have been included in that particular configuration. The ze2113us belongs to the ze2000z series, so the brochure being one-for-all contains information on all the ports available(even optional ones) with the laptop.

You can use a PC card slot firewire adaptor which fits into your PC card slot...

Thank you for your reply, i appreciate it! After having it for some weeks, i must say that this laptop is amazing. I'd been waiting to buy one because i wanted quality and performance at a good price. That was exactly what i found with this baby! This laptop is fast, the display rivals my plasma tv, and the performance is incredible. Copying DVD's is a breeze, programs load up immediately and the memory is plentiful. Get it if you can. Once again i bought HP, and once again i made the right choice! YOU GO HP!!!! :)
