    That's really interesting, I'm going to have to check this out for myself (actually I'm just looking for an excuse to go and see some laptops). :)

    Edit: I forgot that my CompUSA was one of the ones that got shut down when they closed half of their stores nationwide. Of course I only figured that out after I drove all the way to where it once was . . .

    All notebooks at cost is very misleading. Notebooks don't bring retailers much profit, so putting them at cost is maybe a $50 discount.

    Edit: The more I think about it, the better this marketing strategy sounds. Putting all laptops at cost means no loss leaders - no negative profit for a day!

    you get the computers for the same price the store pays for them (supposedly) - no mark up for one day only
