that deal is sick. if I needed another computer, I'd so have this.
-
Damn dude.
-
That is awesomeness... it seems like a better deal than the Gateway P7805 and Sager NP8662! I've got my P7805u on its way, so I'm fine. I'd love to see some fellow NBR members pick up that beast though.
-

-
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
This is the greatest deal even if its santarosa...
Remember, maximum games are GPU limited not CPU limited. -
lol
i was configuring it, and it said this on the video card page:

God what an amazing deal... I bet this thing will still compare to the new gaming laptops coming out now and at that price! ++++
-
what about the Intel® PRO/Wireless 4965a/g/n Mini Card for 35 bucks? -
go ahead n get the wifi card\\
not sure bout physx -
ageia is totally pointless.. save money and get a intel 5300 off ebay instead
-
.... agree i forgot about the intel 5300 lol
-
I added
AGEIA PhysX™
and bluetooth
$1099.00 + Tax -
ageia was a waste of money lol bluetooth is nice htough
-
It was just a random add because my brothers seemed to work better in some games with it and I also hear that the mobo was updated so i can use 800mhz ram
-
even w/o the latest rgb led screen , m1730 is still best gaming laptop ever. -
One question that im not really worried about withh it support DDR2 at 800mhz?
-
Man.. Anyone have any clue how long this is going to last? I want one so bad.. But I would have to sell my 7805 first! or maybe i dunno..

If only it supported quad core
This is a good one to buy and then self upgrade to a better cpu & ram and stuff, its a good get away cheap deal.
Much better than the referb gateways that were selling at a similar price a while back. -
I wonder how well this would sell on eBay. Dual 9800M GT is nothing to scoff at, but all the other outdated things are... nonetheless... Dual SLI 9800M GT... mhmmhpmhmphh i need moneys.
What's dell's return policy on this? lol. -
are there any more processors that are supported in this laptop other than those listed?
-
Unfortunately it's an outdated Santa Rosa platform (current is Montevina) which is what limits the laptop. Still, most games are bottle necked by the GPU, so the Dual SLI 9800M GT is amazing at that price.
Yeah, those are pretty much what's available for the laptop. -
the x9000 is the highest it can go and the 1730 support over clocking in the bios
-
This is not bad at all.
lol @ NVidia pwn frag comment... -
in the long run is 9800sli gt> 260m gtx or is it the other way around? Becuase prior to this i was 8662 all the way but this being a tad cheaper im now rethinking? so which is better? Plus where on earth do you get a x9000 all i can find is the x9100?!? And how is the battery with the 85whr or the 9cell?
-
9800 SLI is definitely better.

I wouldnt expect great battery life out of a dual gpu laptop. -
Lol I would assume people would know this is a desktop replacement xD Hell my 7805 is rarely ever off the power cord. FS> 7805 LOOOOOOOL need cash T.T
-
Xps 1730 owner now, hooray! lolz
I couldn't pass this up, awesome deal! Moving most of my components from my X205, so an even better deal for me. $1095.68 shippedAdded bluetooth, and dropping in 5300 wifi myself.
....Now if it would hurry up and get here. -
uhh does this have an HDMI port, im kinda not sold if it doesnt include an HDMI port.. I do alot of stuff on my TV, and that would really suck if it didnt have it >_<
-
No HDMI, but you could get a dvi to hdmi cable.
-
it has a DVI
DVI to hdmi adapter is liek 7 bucks -
Yeah.. very true... man shipped even with california's taxes is still less then what i paid for my 7805.. i want this thing...
-
DVI no sound though.
-
How does the T9300(2.5 GHz, 6MB Cache) compare against the T8100(2.1 GHz, 3MB Cache)? For 185 bucks, is it worth the upgrade especially while playing a CPU dependent game like GTA IV?
-
I use a T9300 in my X205, its pretty fast IMO. Dunno about GTA4, I don't think it runs to well on dual cores, I may be mistaken though.
-
Well min spec for GTA4 cpu is a 1.8 dual, but recommended is a 2.4 quad, cant really get more non-specific then that..
-
I'm wondering if W90 rly worths lol
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yeah it is, it's a great machine... But then again so is the M980NU when it comes out
and the M17x....however, it just so happens the M1730 is comparable and very very cheap
