Really, ram and OS do not matter...
The only thing that really matters is that it's new, not from newegg (don't ask), and that it was 8gb or more...

It also should play CSS, but if i am correct, if it was an atom, i should be good...
3hr+ battery as well, and under $250 if thats even possible xD

LMK what you guys can find! :D
    Thanks

Well if you don't mind RAM or OS, and want something at around 250 and with 8gb+, then the buy.com acer aspire one fits your needs (258 + Free Shipping + Probably no sales tax, and it's cheaper if you use the cashback from live.com). Although I would be worried because there are a lot of issues to work with those things. But if you replace the wireless card you'll be getting rid of one of the biggest problems with them and a good wireless card is around 20-30 bucks. It's got an atom so that's good, but the battery life will definitely not be over 3 hours cause it only has a 3 cell.

    What about mine? :)

Tried to fit yours as good as possible, but 250 isn't too much for all of that :p

Have you seen the Lenovo S10 deal for $300?

    http://www.notebookreview.com/deals/

Your not serious about the CSS right? cause the Asus n10j with the 254mb nvidia card is the only one i can think of

I doubt any netbook can handle CSS with playable fps. I couldn't even enjoy that game on my IBM t43p which equid. a v3200.

Well, my dads laptop runs CSS at 20fps on DX7 and he has the intel 950... so that's what the netbooks have, so it should work on any netbook with an atom and a 950
(PS. my dads laptop might as well be a netbook, 1.6 core solo, 1gb ram, intel 950)

So, i'm figuring that a netbook should be atleast as strong as my dad's laptop (because the netbook will have 2+gb ram)

A 1.6Ghz Core Solo will be around twice as powerful as a 1.6ghz Atom.
Counter Strike Source is a heavily CPU intensive game.
Your dad's laptop will certainly push more FPS than a netbook, at least 30% more, perhaps higher.

mind you the atom 1.6 is much slower than intel core solo 1.6
    You should google the benchmark

    lol, my bad...

in that case, i just need to find a deal on some cheap netbook, that won't break the bank. Just for ideas now, because i ahve gotten some stuff sorted out, and i may not be too laptop less for much longer, and i have quired a old desktop for the time being...

any way though, so if any one knows of some outstanding deals for a netbook, that i can just have as a backup, that'd be great...
