wish i was rich and could pay someone to convert it back to standard Win usage...i find the tile so inefficient. There are about 20 things in Win7 i could come up with that they changed over 2000/XP that was just retarded.

    1. can't double click on network icon to get network status
    2. you can't do a detailed setting on control panel anymore...it is the backwards list setting that goes left to right not top to bottom so its like finding a needle in a hay stack to find certain settings plus they changed the names like add and remove program to something else so i can never find it.
    3. search is nerfed to high heavan and utterly uselss. I'll type stuff in and it can't find it. I have a hell of a time trying to find note pad files since search doesn't search the entire computer. I'll type the exact file name in or just one word and it gets nothing ?!?!?!?
    4. you can't pin folders to task by....no matter how i try i can't force that folder to a specific folder or even my computer?!?!?!?!
    5. they nerfed so many folder settings it isn't even funny anymore.
6.getting to advance admin settings is retarded. it used to eb easy to get to so now you have to go to system details and type admin tools to find it but if you type that in any other folder it won't work....#@^%@#^
7.i can keep going on stupid stuff they changed for no reason......now i got windows 8 to look forward to......sigh....i feel like not even using technology anymore since each new windows sucks even more and every other OS is crap too. It is like MS doesn't even care to make a functional OS

oh and 8. the stupid force restarts that turn your computer off in the middle of the night and screw up all your work @#$^&@#$&@%&*@$*@$ %

Prices just took a dive from last night in the home market too. I think I just snagged a whale and if I can sell some stuff around my house, I will get to keep it (I love dell's 21 day "test drive" period). I will post up a screenshot in a bit.

Ivy Bridge ultrabook with discrete GFX for Windows RT price -- This was the BEST deal I found after scouring the site for the past week or 2 (since the coupon came out).

There were a few XPS 13's that were in the 629 range before the 25% off, but I really wanted a 14 with dedicated GFX and much better trackpad.

    Hi,

Can anyone explain to me how these codes often work. Do they come out on a regular basis and on a certain time interval? Do the codes reach a maximum redeemabilty?

I actually *just* purchased a Lat e6530 from the outlet site but didn't use a code b/c i didn't see a code for that model. I would have waited but finding one with the HD+ was difficult at the lower price range, which i ended up getting for $699.

But i'm wondering if i should keep checking for a new coupon and maybe look for a similar one if one comes out and then return the one that arrives, (i wouldn't even open my laptop when arrives if i can count on these codes popping up soon).

Are a bunch expected during black friday or some other way that the lat e6530 might be further discounted? In which case i could leave my laptop that arrives, unopened at wait for that.

    Any advice? Any insight?

    Thanks.

They've changed the program over the years. Before they were unique and one-time use coupons. Some have had a certain amount of redemptions. The ones now usually last 24-48 hours to a week. They come out about every other week with some posted to Twitter in between.

If you are looking for something, it definitely is worthwhile to wait if you can.

A yes, the codes even *looked* like 1 time codes. That's great that they come out so often. Even though i just bought my system it has yet to arrive, so as long as i don't open it i'll just keep watching every day for a code for the lat e6530 and see if i can get either a better deal or the same price for a better system, even though i don't think i really need anymore speed or ram, i guess it's nice to have it if i can find it for the same price in the end.

If you call now and ask to return it, they'll likely offer you some amount to keep it. I think they are more strict on restocking fees now than in the past, so you'd lose 15% if you wanted to return it.

Ahhh, thanks. Then i'll keep it. None of the lower priced Lat e6530 had screens other than 1366x768. So i could ask them to cancel but then when a code comes up i'd have to buy the more expensive one, so yes in the end the price will be the same, and i would get more for the money, but i don't think i need the additional power/memory, so i should just keep what i bought, right?

I ended up getting an e6530

Intel Core 3rd Generation i5-3320M Processor (2.6GHz, 3M cache, Upgradable to Intel vPro technology) (yay!)
    4 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz (2 DIMMs)
    Intel HD Graphics 4000
Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Service Pack 1
320 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
    15.6inch HD+ (1600x900) Wide View Anti-Glare WLED-backlit (woot!)
Dell Wireless 1540 802.11a/n Dual Band, High Speed Wi-Fi Half Mini-card
    8X DVD +/- RW Drive

for $689. And i don't game or do very complex worksheets, even though i do like to multitask. And none of the other machines under $799ish had the HD+ screen.

You could probably get $50-75 if you wanted to ask for a return. It depends on the CSR; some are more flexible than others. Some machines they don't have much margin so that also depends. Good luck!

Ahh, yes, that happened to me with my Desktop, i really *did* want to return it after it was on it's way to me and they gave me quite a bit off. :D. I'll look around again at the Outlet offerings. For some reason i am not seeing ANY HD+ screens, wth? Why in the heck would someone order a great machine with tons of extras and a sh---y screen. ? That's even on the $1,000 models in the refurb.

Also, why are there different prices for the same specs? Hope it's not *worse condition*, cuz that means mine'll be F'd up. lol.
