Dell is offering their 6000 desktop replacement at
    a pretty steep discount:

    See review:

I was wondering if this is a particularly good deal - it seems comparable to The Acer Aspire offered at newegg.com:

Any thoughts on the Dell offer? Is the screen quite bad? Are these offers seen just about every month?

The ~$700 price includes a free upgrade to 512MB ram. True it is a celeryon. I was considering this - but I decided to pay off my credit card instead. I'm a student without a large budget.

Check the Dell Outlet. There are some good deals there. You can get a Dell I6000 with PM 1.5Ghz CPU, 512mb RAM, and 64mb ATI MRX300 for less than $850.
