    Thanks. Why is it that in most descriptions for monitors that I am reading, they are not mentioning whether it is glossy or matte? I would think that this is one of the first things somebody would want to know. Is there a spec I should be looking at to tell me this info that I am missing?

    I noticed that it was missing too and there is very little information about it on the net. Since it is on the business side it would more likely be matte.

    Most desktop monitors are still matte so it is a good bet. And as atbnet said its the business side so more than likely there also.

    Yes most monitors are matte. Glossy is really more of a laptop thing. Chances are unless it states it's glossy, then it will be matte. Sadly though glossy monitors are starting to follow laptops and and becoming increasingly common.

    If glossy is your thing, then head over to Buy.com whenever they have a deal on either this:

    22" HP copy → usually around $140

    or

    24" HP copy     → usually around $205
