Inspiron 1505 is $671 today after a $602 off coupon.
XP Home (no office software)
Intel® Core Duo processor T2300 (2MB Cache/1.66GHz/667MHz FSB)
512MB Shared Single Channel DDR2 SDRAM 533MHZ, 1 DIMM
60GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
This seems like a pretty sweet deal but I also don't follow notebooks too much (this would be my first). Any advice?

thats actually a great deal
i just got my grandparents to buy me a 1505 last week and it will get here wednesday
i got the Core Duo T2400
2 GB of DDR2 ram
100 GB 5400 RPM, mine is more for battery life but yours will do fine
DVD BURNER
and the 9 cell battery but i paid $1300 for mine after rebates so all in all i think you came out with a better deal -
Thanks for the tip. This brings my next question (which maybe should've been my first question).
If I'm looking for a sub-$700 computer is this a deal that's too good to pass up? I'm still unsure about buying a notebook and to get this I'd have to decide by midnight. Am I *really* missing out by not grabbing this? -
There are no notebook in the market with that specification that is worth 700$....the only thing that youd worry about is the screen and the build quality and battery life....the e1505 doesnt have the best screen nor build quality nor the worst...
I notice dell always have specials and coupons...but sometimes its cheap sometimes its not...but I havent seen that low base price with that specs...
But i doubt there will be something lower than that price...
btw 7200rpm doesnt make a big change to the speed but a 5400 rpm and more hard drive is good for storage at almsot same price...but that is my personal opinion
if you do play games then id be a better way to upgrade video and lose something else as video card is unupgradeable
Edit: to add more confusion...Intel Merom cpu will be release in maybe august...a faster core duo -
Dell is worried their market share slipped for like the first time ever. I don't see anything with Core Duo and a DVD burner cheaper anytime soon.

This is still quite a deal, however with the 40% off coupon and some other various stackable coupons... people on slickdeals.net were able to get E1505's for as low as $520!
-
Very good deal -
Where'd you get the coupon?
