    Dell is now offering the Mini 9 starting at $199 after an instant $40 discount. The base configuration is equipped with Ubuntu Linux operating system, but upgrades to Windows XP are available at extra cost. Other features include Intel Atom processor, 1GB DDR2 system memory, 4GB SSD, and 4 cell lithium-ion battery.

    great little netbook to use it anywhere in the house for less than the price of some mp3 players :D

    I thought they discontinued the Mini 9 a while ago...

    L1GHTGAM3R, Dell also has the Mini 10 and Mini 10v. You might like those.

    I cant justify paying 199 for a dell mini when you can get the ASUS deals for $150 or even cheaper sometimes. Not only that but if you're totally not tech savvy, having ubuntu compared to something you might be used to kinda sucks.

    It is a prime candidate for hosting other operating systems. I can't say much more than that here without breaking forum rules.

    I've owned the aforementioned ASUS eeepc's at 9", and they don't even come close to the polish that the Dell mini 9 reaches. Brighter and lusher screen, better keyboard (larger keys), completely silent (fanless), and very light/compact.

    having owned both i definitely prefer the screen and build quality of dell's mini 910.
