1TB Hard Drive
1.8GB GTX260
Crappy mouse

So that mean I will have two m15x-r2 and one m17x-r3 then. -
-

Hopefully Dell doesn't pull anything funny with the orders that were placed, like cancelling them and claiming it was a "pricing error" that allowed us folks to get really good prices on the machines. Im assuming they raised the prices to compensate for the 25% off coupon but that's just..... stupid. Why give a coupon then raise prices so the coupon just lowers it back to it's original price?
-
And as for raising the prices, they must have just realized that they were practically giving Alienwares away lol. -
This is not acceptable. -
Yea, I suppose. I was a bit suprised to get a fairly decked out M15x, minus the processor, for the price a M11x was going to run me (This M15x ended up as $1824 on the Dell site built new). I had a email today saying the credit card was declined that I paid with. So I had to call them up and authorize the payment, then contacted Dell and they said they were releasing the hold and now the order shows as In Production.... it shows a ETD of 4-27-2010 so it should be shipping Today or Tomorrow.... so hopefully everything goes through.

Yea that is one beast machine man, Grats on that. Glad to hear yours have shipped out - hopefully I can report the same sometime today!
-
both mine shipped today didn't have time to cancel one, but my buddy wants it so its all good now to have fun come the 26th, woot woot.
-
Yea I think mine would have shipped today had I not had to call my Bank and let them know the charge was indeed mine, and then get with Dell. It did move from order on hold to in production after the online chat with the Dell rep about 9:30 though so hoping mine get's on the way too.
I am a terribly impatient person when it comes to getting new toys -
-
well the first one has a i7 720qm 3gb ram 1066mhz, a blu ray drive, gtx 260m, 1080p screen, 7 home premium all that was 1013 total.
the other one or the one I am returning or selling lol, is the same but has no blu ray but has 6gb ram 1333mhz and windows 7 professional. that was 1130 out the door -
Man I am jealous smackrs, can't believe yours has both the I7 and a Blu-Ray drive and it was cheaper than the one I grabbed shipped! Have a feeling your gonna love that machine.
On the bright side mine is updated to shipped, I see it's coming Fed Ex, I was expecting UPS. Anyone know if I can call Fed Ex like you can with UPS and just ask them to hold it at the facility rather than attempting to deliver it, and just stop by and pick it up one day after work? -
now im pissed, tried to pick up an adamo...found one for $850, added it to cart only to realize that the promotion was over.
-
both mine are estimated to arrive today says the tracking number woot woot. Also no fed ex will not let u pick up, I have a guy who wants to buy my other one locally for 1500, 400 profit.
-
Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
-
they came at 9:00am on my day off, now I am up early as a crazy man, but I have my toys, Also mmmm they look sexy, but they are heavy lol. I am going to go kiss them some more now bye.
-
What's a good carrying case for the M15x.... preferrably not a backpack...
-
-
lol i hate dell uk... only has insiprons and old xps laptops for resale in outlet... where are the alienwares lol
-
Have you guys got your system yet? Does it come with any accessories? or is it just come with the power adapter and manual?
-
-
got my alienware aurora desktop in the mail today, 1 day ahead of schedule!
-
-
Just got mine, it did come with a Displayport to HDMI dongle. It was the one piece that was inside my packaging that I had to look closer at to figure out what it was!
-
-
Yea mine had the mousepad and a alienware hat, along with the leather manual. I didn't see a cover though - it may just depend on what the original buyer sends it back with? Mine was listed on the site as "Previously Ordered New" which per Dell's own terms mean the computer was never accessed to the point of going to Desktop, so maybe he never opened the stuff and sent it back and thus why I got it.
A cover would have been nice though.... I'm gonna need to get to Best Buy or somewhere this week because as of right now I have no way to carry this around protected, still don't know what sleeve/case to get either. Just want something that looks nice and will do the job, I'm not going to be taking it around all the time, just to friends places on the weekends. -
Where did it say Previous Ordered New? Is it anywhere on the invoice? Can you copy paste all the part in your invoice for me so I know exactly what I need to ask for when I call? Thanks
-
im pretty sure the previously ordered new ones are ones that someone configured and that dell built, but was never shipped out because the customer canceled the order.
-
-
I'll post the invoice but not sure if that will help much, scanned it and didn't see much there. I know I've seen it somewhere on Dell's site after I placed the order, but don't remember where. I know when I purchased it however it was listed as Previously Ordered New.

Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
I got my Beast today in my sig. under 2K !!! I love how portable the m15x is vs. the m17x, and I am sooo juiced that I got mine MAXXED OUT and under 2K !!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow man how did you get a 920xm, the 5870, and a 256GB SSD for under 2k? I mean.... the SSD alone has to be around $500, the 920XM $700-800 is a great price, and $400 for the GPU!? That's awesome though man - your rig is a pure beast.
Man I thought I got a really good deal when I got my comp but now I'm starting to think I didn't do as well as I thought heh. -
After a long battle with the "support specialist", they agreed to send me the dongle but not a manual cuz they need to save the trees and I can download it onlinesuch dumb reason.
Oh well, quick question, is 4 years of premium + accidental warranty worth $650 dollars? -
Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
I actually got the GPU from Babyhemi for 439.00 , besides that the config that I got was " Scratch & Dent " , that is why it was sooooo cheap. It's not the look that counts, it's the personality.
@kevintech
I never buy warranty unless it's a replacement warranty... I fix my own laptop when it breaks. -
Also thats pricey for a warranty also fixing laptops can be tricky however alienwares make it easy. -
-
$650 is more than I would spend on a warranty, simply because that's about 70% of what the laptop itself ran me. I could see maybe 2 years of care, but what I've learned about myself is if I buy something expecting 4 years of use out of it, I usually have it for 2 then get the urge to upgrade, I would say spending $200-300 on a warranty that you feel would be worth it is a good idea, but $650 just seems to be getting really, really expensive.
Quick question, albeit a stupid one - what do you guys think of this case for the laptop for transportation? I would get a Alienware bag or backpack, but that's asking for someone to try to steal it if given the chance almost. I thought I had read some people here on the forums who had this and really liked it but not sure:

It seem nice. Kinda thin though, not alot of pad. It could be the pictures doesn't do it justice. I had my Alienware backpack for 4-5 years now, you just have to remember to lock your car doors or leave it in the trunk. However, I have heard alot of people got their laptop stolen in my area lately. I take it out when I get out of the car or put it in my trunk plus LoJack hehe.
-
Ha yea I don't blame you. I would be furious if someone stole my laptop. A friend of mine who lives in about the same area works for Comcast and recently had his van broken into so the idiots could take his GPS. There are just so many shady people out there.
I'm also thinking of getting the Orochi mouse, but am at work currently and last night didn't get a chance to look into how you set up the bluetooth with the M15x. Is there just a application you run so it detects the mosue, or how do you get that set up? (Never really used Bluetooth much except for my phone.) -
You should see a Bluetooth icon on your system tray by the clock or Bluetooth Configuration in control panel. My work laptop blocked it but from there you should be able to put your M15x's Bluetooth in discovery mode. It will find all Bluetooth device within the area. Make sure the orochi set to be discoverable/broadcasting. It pretty much self explanatory from there on.
-
Thanks, figured it was something simple. Can you configure more than one device at a time or is it semi-limiting? Would like to get a Bluetooth Headset as well for gaming/listening to Music and have that and the Mouse be active at the same time. Plus being it only has 2 USB ports it kinda frees those up. Appreciate all the help Kevin.
