is there any coupons out for it right now? Ever since they got the new lcd panel's ive been waiting for a damn coupon![]()
-
There is the $669 off right now
-
Yeah i ment besides that one. Because once i add the new lcd panel, 9cell battery it comes out to a little over 1500.
it comes out to be the same price without the coupon except i only get 1gig of ram not 3.
And you can buy ram for really cheap. I am looking to spend about 12-1300 shipped to my door. so ive been waiting for the lcd panel and now they have that so im waiting for a coupon now.
-
I don't think there are any coupons right now.
-
Yeah i tried an inspiron coupon but i guess dell caught on with that from before
. hopefully they offer up some coupons for the xps.
-
this might be a dumb question but does anyone know how long that $699 off deal is going for?
-
If you add one to your cart it will say January 31st.
They can and have been know to remove deals before there experation date though. -
aww well that sucks. hopefully a damn coupon comes before that date
.
a little off topic but ive seen a few people say it has a noisy cpu fan. is it more noisy then other laptops or are people just nitpicking? -
-
It has expired
-
The deal was supposed to expire on 1-31. The original $699 deal was "amended" to $624 off, which dropped the base CPU as well (thus causing an effective $75 price increase to get it back to the original T7500 configuration). The "deal" itself is still valid, but as of yesterday they no longer offer the 160GB drive. You have to get the 320GB 5400 RPM drive, which effectively increased the price of the deal by $100. The extra drive is OK, I guess, but I'm not sure I (personally) need .3TB of storage on a lappy.
Sure seems to me they're trying to clear out inventory.....

they had a coupon for the 13" model last week that was an extra 10% off and was stackable. Dell really needs to add this to this 1530 or just some money off. Ever since they announced the new lcd's weeks ago ive been waiting. for the price they want now i would rather go buy a MBP.
Hopefully a coupon comes soon! -
believe me $1999 which is $1799 w/ discount MBP is much more worthed. the keyboard on1530 is a disapointment...not its bad.
-
uhm there is no discounts on the MBP.
and ive played around with the 1530's kb and its great. infact i like it more then the mbp keyboard. however nothing competes with the keyboards on the lenovo. but i searched around there is no deals on a mbp.
but by the time dell actually has a coupon for the 1530 again, i will have enough money to buy a damn house -
its apple student discount..$200
you can also sign up for the ADC membership and get $400 off the system... -
hmm im not a student though. anyway i would rather the 1530
.
-
hmmm.... i am also waiting for a good deal on a 1530 or 1330.
-
Metamorphical Good computer user
They'll come out with another deal, just use patience and don't fool yourself into waiting for a better deal when it comes out or you'll never get a 1530.
-
I got a good deal on my XPS.
-
nerzhul.vendor waht the hell...
how did you cancle the 3 year warratny... -
yeah im trying to be patient i know a deal will come im just waiting for it. the $699 off deal just did nothing for me. it took it off the original price so after you added the lcd into it then it came out to be about $1564 and if you just configured it without any deal it came out to about $1564 (only 1gig of ram).
SO ill just have to hope a coupon comes soon. The dell chat rep told me every wed at 11pm ct they update their prices weekly. But he didnt mention when they have new deals so im guessing those just happen anyday of the week.
and yeah nerzhul.vendor how the hell did you get that laptop so cheap? -
nerzhul.vendor......tell everyone your secret!!!!!! i want to get one, but i am currently waiting for a coupon loll.
-
yeah im very interested
even if u have to pm me.
-
Please tell us Nerzhul.
-
Just FYI, you can't get the same deal as I did. You are about a month too late.
-
Keyboard is very mushy on this laptop-not even close to a MBP which in itself is mushy. Fit and finish problems are a real worry after reading the horror stories but i suppose that is up to ones interpretation of quality. Someone that drives a Chevy or Ford all day long may believe they are quality because they have not driven a quality car. Just how it goes. Configure the laptop with EPP and the base price is also different. Dell should just offer one base price and stop playing games raising the price when new coupons come out.
-
-
wow still no love for the 1530's. Dell is holding out on us
.
-
-
actually, they did that for a short time which is how he got it so low. but they started informing their reps not to do this anymore
-
well dell needs to stop holding out on us and give us some damn 1530 stackable coupons
-
What do people think about the $300 off deal on cheapstingy right now? It's the last day and I'm wondering if I should pull the trigger or wait? Does that include the new LCD screen?
-
the low end 1530 isint a BAD deal but there is so many good laptop deals with other brands etc that the deal isint that great.
-
i take it no new coupons yet
?
-
I really don't understand why they'd suddenly spike the price back up the full $650 or however much. I was about to buy one but was holding out a bit until I had the cash. Now that they took the deal down I'm definitely not buying one. What gives? Doesn't seem like a great sales strategy to me.
I'm just going to hold out. With the economy the way it is they've got to put together a new promotion soon. I don't see how they can raise the price back up that much - they basically devalued their own hardware by $600, reset the consumer view of it, and then tried to bring the price back up...and it's not going to work. Me, and countless other people, are now just going to look to other brands for equally powerful and less expensive products. -
well it's not like every single customers are aware of dell's pricing strategy. there are many people out there that are more than willing to pay premium for XPS brand. occasional price cuts/coupon will help bring in the bargain hunters or those who were holding out on purchase for a while. it's just how business works. why charge less when it still sells for more albeit less of it.
-
dell just announced today about the penryn chips coming. they didnt mention models or availability but from what ive read they think anyday now and most people predicted a price drop and coupon to get rid of the chips they have now but apparently they are doing the opposite.
every wed at 12am CT they update prices though. So hopefully we get some prices at 12am ct.
-
Get on the phone and tell the sales rep you had one built up for so and so price, before they changed it on you. I promise you they will make a compromise and get you laptop for cheap. If you want another 12% off, I can give you my EPP code and sales rep.
JUST CALL! Seriously, they are salespeople and will happily cut a deal with you to get a sale! -
I'm in the same boat was about to buy it until the spike. I'll probably give them a call.
-
Also please do not post the EPP codes since it is against the forum rules.
Thx
Kdawgca -
wait for the new processors to come out THEN get one <--that's what i'm doing
-
jesus the prices are a joke right now. And the 1330 just got the penryn upgrade for a super hefty price. dell is going to be losing customers looking to buy a xps if they keep the prices this high for the next few weeks.
-
lol xps is not a budget notebook. that's why they have the vostro and inspiron lines. the higher prices only means dell has no desire to sell more xps notebooks right now.
-
i wouldnt say the normal xps is a high end laptop its more of an entertainment laptop. its not the full fledged gaming powerhouse.
point is aging hardware doesnt rise in price as they have done this past week. especially with the penryns hitting the 1330 which means it should be available in the 1530 before the weeks end they shouldnt be raising prices.
Most people who purchase a laptop dont just login to the site and buy it. they shop around watch prices for a month or so then buy. raising your prices has probly shunned more then a few customers away already.
Of coarse dell wants to sell as many xps laptops as well as every other model laptop as they possibly can. competative prices is what drives a business to the top. they are ripping customers off with the recent prices.
its all just a waiting game really, consumer vs coropration just waiting for the right price so i can feel like i won -
actually most people don't shop around for a month. when they feel the need to buy a laptop they will either 1) go to several electronics megastore such as bestbuy or 2) shop and compare several online websites and make their decision rather impulsively. also how can you say XPS is an entertainment notebook when 1730 and 1530 both offers best graphics card in its class? anyways if you wait another week or 2 i'm sure dell will come out with another big discount.
-
i can suppose we can agree to disagree. I dont know a single person who would spend over 1k on anything without some research and seeing what was out there. But whatever its kind of a moot point
.
and i definatly will be waiting to get a deal. what could have been shipped to my door for 1500 is now over 1600 before tax.
-
I agree with DJ I am waiting because this is my first big investment in a long time. I wish I had bought it when it was on sale but thought it was just a regular deal. I think its all supply and demand. When it was on sale they were swamped with orders, now trying to fulfill those orders are their priority. I'm waiting for the scales to tip back into our favor.
-
your probably right. either that or they put it on sale to get rid of the old processors as much as possible to make room to start selling the penryns. the 1330 already is switching processors. I expected the 1530 to do so already but apparently they have not done it yet.
I bet we will get a sale and some coupons once they move the new chips into them. I might just hold off now and get the penryn just to get some extra cache
On a side note i was in bestbuy last night and they had a 1530 on display and i played around with it. super nice laptop. the one thing i dont like about it and all the dells seem to have it now is the headphone and such is on the front of the laptop. I have a surround sound unit so i would use the headphone jack to listen to music from my surround sound. So that might be a bit of a hinderance other then that the laptop was gorgeous. -
I just made this configuration using Dell EPP and DPA. Do you think it's a good price?
