Just noticed that dell has again lowered their prices on the XPS M140. It started off around December at $999, during January, it went down to $899 now its March and dell has lowered the XPS M140 another $100, down to $799 and a Dell DJ Ditty 512MB MP3 player is included! And the XPS M140 also ships free. Not a bad deal :)

Also, take note that the 630m, the same thing as the XPS M140, sells in Dell small business and starts at $699. Now, the differences right now between the base XPS M140 and 630m are: XPS M140 comes with 60GB HD, 630m - 40GB, XPS M140 XP Media Center Edition, 630m XP Home, XPS M140 - XPS Support, 630m -- Regular dell support, XPS M140 also comes with a small CD Case, and a small bag for the power supply. And right now it also comes with the Free Dell DJ Ditty 512MB (Worth $99). I would say the extra $100 is definitly worth it for all that you get...

I haven’t had to use my XPS Support yet. However dell claims they their XPS techs are better trained and it's easier to talk with one... You shouldn't have to wait on the phone as long...

The 630M is $100 cheaper. And If your on a tight budget and don't really care about the XPS M140's additional goodies, then the 630m is a good choice. :)

I want to order one with just the 6 cell battery. If I wanted to upgrade that to the 9 cell like a year after I ordered my M140, where can I find one?

ebay is the best place. Directly from dell its like $129 for a 9 cell. But on ebay they run around $70. By the way the 6 cell should give you 4.5 hrs, the 9 cell, 7hrs. Now, this is all on the lowest settings... screen dimmed, powersaving settings on. I have the 9cell and I typically get 5+ hrs. I like to keep the screen on full brightness.
