If you want to build or upgrade to a i7 rig and the expensive motherboards have been putting you off, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Directly from EVGA is a refurbished SLI LE motherboard for $89.00 and free shipping to round off the deal.

Full price normally around $240.00 for a new one (as seen HERE)

I bought this same board just a month ago for 190$. =_= I can't believe it's being sold this low.

So how do you like the board?

I hate to buy things preemptively because I do not plan to get an i7 unill later this year when the non extreme version of the 6 core i7 is out (6 cores overclocked = video encoding heaven)

But I am thinking of getting this now and holding it for later since it is a pretty good deal. But later on there may be other good deals or better motherboards so thats why the choice is hard.

Are refurbished MOBO's dangerous to buy? Do they go bad sooner than a new board?

Its a risk but not one I would consider large. 90 day warranty instead of a 365 day warranty.

In my personal experience refurbished items are always as good as new, but I dont want to say thats always the case and have somebody come back angry at me :D

    Expansion slots:

    4 - PCI Express 2.0 x16
    1 - PCI Express x1
    1 - PCI

The one thing that bugs me about this mobo.

Yeah I agree, I only have one card that needs a PCI slot though (my X-FI card) a lot of other cards these days have a pci-e variant including the x-fi cards. Seems like slowly they are trying to phase it out (PCI)

Probably sold out. Since it was refurbished they only had a limited number of units.

90-day warranty? Bite me. I would also consider it telling that they only offer a 1-year warranty on the standard product, where other similarly equipped boards carry a three year warranty.

Hm, I see the SLI LE for $79.99. I think you're looking at the non LE version.
