Please enlighten me: Why did you buy a second license? When I was starting up A-10C it told me I had 10 activations. Does this mean that a change in hard drive or motherboard is going to result in my having to re-register?

I bought a second license cause it was cheap and I wanted to support the devs. :)

As for activations it's similar in theory to the way Microsoft does it but a little different. You can swap memory and a few other things without requiring a new activation. Certain things like motherboard, hard drive and LAN/NIC Card will ask you to activate it again. Before you activate it make sure you deactivate the product first as it won't cost you an activation when you go back to reactivate it.

Also if you are one of those that likes to do fresh installs you can backup the registry key which holds the activations then all you have to do is reinstall the key from the exported registry file and you don't have to reactivate it. :)

Thanks for the tip on deactivation! Yeah I am one of those types who reinstall quite frequently, so it's always a little annoying that I have to reactivate my products. But at least it sounds like I won't lose my activation counts when I switch to an SSD.

Oh and this is the first sim I felt was worthy of trying since Falcon 4.0! :D
