OP isn't a reseller, so I don't see why it should be in the marketplace.

I've seen $1/GB. I don't see why this is such an amazing deal at $1.07/GB. Under $1/GB would be a good deal.

It's rare to see a 240-256GB SSD near $1/GB. $1.07 is close enough.

The only time I've ever seen it was when Newegg was clearing out those Western Digital 256 GB models for $200. Until prices regularly drop to that level, that was the bargain of the decade.

I agree, and I scored one! And it's only the start of the decade! lol. This time next year we should see 240-256GB SSD's running about $1/GB as normal pricing.

that bothers me so much. I'm waiting for some innovation that brings prices down dramatically. It needs to be an order of magnitude cheaper. It'll get there, but I'm not sure when.

It is quite disappointing, I agree. Seems that instead of concentrating on reducing costs, they keep trying to make them faster, when in reality, most people don't care about faster. I'd rather see them cheap first, then faster later. Drive it down to $0.75/GB, then you'll will probably see them selling a LOT more 120 to 256GB drives.

Agreed. I'm running a SATA-2 drive in my desktop and Windows already loads in 20-25 seconds (vs 1-2 minutes with a HDD). Even if the SSD was double the speed it is now, that would still only save me 10-12 seconds, which is not nearly enough to justify the higher price the faster drive would cost.
