    Doesn't matter, the price is still about the same. What sucks is that you can't get an option for the 667Mhz DDR2. Looks like your stuck with 533Mhz.

    With the cas latency, I heard that the 667 doesnt offer much of an improvement.

    well, newegg offers 1 brand of 1gb 667mhz ram that has a cas latency of 4, which is the same as 533... I think it's simple tech

    I saw that too, but it might be a typo. Seem odd that only one supplier makes CAS 4 and it's not much more expensive than CAS 5.

    yeah I just talked with the rep, it wont work with that one, so the deal isn't really great >.<

    I think Dell planned it all along. Either one is going to work or the other, but the price is always the same. It usually around the same price range.

    heh, i just bought it with a 35% coupon i got in the mail. have been bouncing between a z96j and this. was too good to pass up for $1330 with a 7900gs!

    I am in the same boat, I wanted a Macbook or e1505 but the e1705 is a monster, I can get a t2400, 60 gb 7200 rpm hd, nivida 7900 gs 256 MB! for under 1400 with tax!!! The coupon rocks! I think I will get an e1705 soon its way to hard to pass up.

    The memory really isn't free either, they are basicly forcing you to purchase the memory, and adding it into the price of the unit.
