    Last month I bought a N3511 for $999 w/shipping at CompUSA, and a week ago I missed buying another one -- for my sister -- when it dropped to $899. Although surges of agony haunted me for the whole week after knowing that CompUSA has ceased its reselling of anything Fujitsu, thinking I could never find a deal as miraculous, I was blessed in finding rebate forms for various Fujtisu notebooks and tablets at their website.

    I swear when I first saw the Qosmio G25 last year I thought they were dummy displays with a vividly colourful transparent print overlayed on a bright flourescent lamp. A second, closer look later I believed that a bright window toolbar was a glowing sticker. Finally, when I saw texts scrolling down the taskbar, I confirmed to myself it was love at third sight.

    However, when I saw the $3,000 price tag, I felt the earth crack beneath me, pulling me under, and I'm falling in a distance between an astronomer and his worshiped stars. I took one last look at the screen again, though, now turned off, having recognized my one true love: my reflection.

    A couple of weeks after, I visited Fry's Electronics. Ill-met, another time. There I saw the G25 again, expensive as it ever was. Beside it was a Lifebook, rivalling the shining Qosmio with its own light, and beating the latter for half the price.

    I know that any current Lifebook can never match (moreso surpass) the Qosmio screens. I also feel how absurd this shallow passion for superficiality seems to most of you, especially with the advent of notebook prices crashing down until the end of April, and also with the Core Duo notebooks at abyssmal introductory prices. Nevertheless, I've never felt such a human attachment for electronics like this before, not that I never did, anyway.

    Here's to the cheapest notebook (under $1,000) with one of the brightest (300 nits) and most beautiful (500:1 contrast ratio) screens one can find in any notebook today, and hey, it runs Half-Life 2 so it's okay (;

    This one's the FUJITSU N3520-368 Cn1.86GHz;512MB DDR2;80GB HDD;15.4"WXGA;802.11a+b/g;Media Center Edition;DVDRW DL;128VRAM

    $999 after $150 Mail-in Rebate, no shipping ): but then, only Fry's (Outpost.com) has them available at the lowest price.

    Looks like a nice notebook for a great price. But 8lbs is quite a bit for a 15.4" notebook. It weighs like the same as the E1705 or XPS M170 both 17" laptops.
