That's a good deal. I've only ever used Crucial though so I can't verify how good G Skill is. Still it's a very tempting deal. ;)

I posted this before and got my thread closed in hardware, great deal though........

Edit; ordered mine first chance. I don't think they can program the CAS with these as Hynix but as cas 7 1066 they should be awesome, not sure though how well they'd FSB OC..................

I am getting confused if I want this.
I got my 4gb which is enough for now but wanted to feel secure with 8gb...

Seems like a great deal for 8GB 1333 MHz. If I needed it I'd be all over it. :) Just can't find a justification to get it over my 4GB... (1066 MHz though)

Spradhan01, I feel you. But... I think at the point when I'll need that 8GB upgrade, the prices will go down anyway. :)

I am 1066 as well, limited by the chipset. JEDEC standard should put these as 1066 7.7.7.20 (DDR3-1333H). Guess I'll find out soon enough..............

I got the 4GB 1333 one from DELL and it has not been a bottleneck for any games or application I run.
So I think I will wait until I see my PC running out of memory and at that time, 8GB will be way cheap for me to get one.

This is sooo tempting. I'm not using 4GB, but I want 8GB.

I don't come even close to the 4GB limit. For the price though I am now assured that there should not in the near future be a ram limitation. If nothing else it will help cache all that much more from the storage systems.

I don't expect any real performance gain, as I said it is more the "I Wants" than the "I Needs"............. :)

Ok, I ordered it. I figured I can put one in my netbook for 4GB total, and swap out one 2GB in my notebook for 6GB total. Hopefully there won't be any timing or compatability issues.

I ordered this kit when it showed up in another thread. I hope it helps my SSD work less when I get it for Christmas. My 1830T is so bad, it keeps insisting I feed it.

So is this sale a special one or it is the regular price for this RAM?

LOL. I wondered that too. There's no indication its a sale or any expiration date. But it's a darn good price I'd hate to see it jump back up and miss out on it. RAM rarely drops to a significantly lower price any more.

well it is on there sale page and the other speeds of it are still at there old price so im guessing it is a limited time sale, i grabbed a set the first day it dropped but i was going to buy the same exact memory anyway, just got lucky i guess

    This deal is too tempting.

The cas latency is 9 for this, for people with 1066Mhz chipset limitated, there is other RAm with 7 cas latency (~20% faster).

    It's CAS 9 at 1333, most likely CAS 7 at 1066. My current PC1066 shows CAS 7 @ 533MHz & CAS 8 @ 609 MHz

Anyone want to go halvsies with me? I already bought one set for my notebook but would like 4GB in my netbook (only single slot), and the same RAM for a single 4GB stick costs $60. I just feel funny buying one for $60 when I know I can get two for $90. I'm thinking about putting 6GB in my notebook and the other 4GB in my netbook, but would prefer a matched pair. I'm just funny that way.

I'll buy it, if you just want to paypal me $48 ($45 RAM + split priority mail shipping).

If the bus speed on my Thinkpad wasn't limited to 1066 MHz, I'd take your half. :)

Why does it matter? It will just downclock to 1066MHz. I'm using mine in my laptop with 1066MHz.

It downclocks to 1066, Cas 7.7.7.20 1T per SiSandra cmd rate

    1.) Passed Windows memory diagnostics
    2.) WEI CPU & Memory x9100 @ 3.99 GHz went from 6.9 with the 4GB to 7.0 with the 8GB
3.) G.Skill chips, does not say Hynix on the chips or CPUz
