Man - I am TEMPTED - but I'm having trouble buying NVidia, the way they are neglecting the users by not coming clean....

    Must....resist.....

By the way, i called, and it is a Web-Only deal - No CompUSA or Tiger stores have them in stock.

If you have no money in the bank, it doesn't look like you'll be sticking with anything.

    Look at it this way:

If ya gotta wait a couple months, maybe by then, it'll be a refurb P-7811FX!

Hey - ya GOTTA find the silver lining SOMEWHERE!

    EDIT:
Welp - Dook twisted my arm nearly clean off the shoulder, held a gun to my head, and FORCED me
    to buy the 6860FX.

All his fault - it's the truth, and I'm sticking to it.

I was thinking of buying one of these, but I am not sure yet due to it being a 17", I was looking more at 15" laptops. Anyways, people have been posting about getting an extended warranty through squaretrade, but my main question/concern is how good of a warranty company is squaretrade. This is the first I have heard of this company so I am unsure.

Yea this is a great deal, and I was looking at a gateway M-6862 at best buy for $750 w/ an ATI HD 2600 512mb video card, which is obviously not as good as the videocard in this. Thing is though I'm wary about 17" as thats a lotta laptop, plus (and this is subjective) but the FX styling seems kinda dated to me personally.

    DEAD DEAL

If you didn't order one, you should be ashamed of yourself. You'll never know what it feels like to be a real man, plus God is probably mad at you.

Nope - I asked before I paid for the purchase.

Wanna laugh? I guess the are REALLY non-trusting, and THEY broke the security seal at the CS desk to check inside.

All I could think was, dang, that just cost 15%, when BOTH seals were 100% intact...

Oh well - I made sure to have a manager come over first, before she opened it, so the HE could see it was sealed when I handed it over to her.

It would be easy to come up with some crap after the cracked it open - I took pix on my phone's camera right there and then, as well.

I think she saw enough, after opening the sealed box, breaking the seal, and then seeing the lappie was still perfectly taped in the original plastic bag, with no sign of the tape ever having been removed.

But, yeah, they just tossed out perfectly good $$, as it was still factory sealed on top, and the bottom had the packing tape that BB puts across the bottom flaps.

Oh they'll still sell it as new, watch. They'll throw some antivirus software in there and say the box was only opened for the Geek Squad to "optimize" and "install the software". I guarantee they won't loose a dime. lol

    'Preciate it Metam!

Back to the topic at hand. I just called Tiger to see if they have a heads-up on any more refurbs coming in and as you can imagine, they were clueless. Hopefully they will receive a new batch soon for those that missed out.

Well the 6860 clearanceprice at my local bestbuy was at $950 today. Not as good of a price as the referbs at compusa/tiger direct, but it is new and comes with a 1 year warranty.

I jumped on this the moment I saw it on TD.And I had just learned about live cash.Total:$735 after shipping and cash back isn't bad at all.Delivery on Monday as well.I don't really game much anymore and it is quite big..but deal was too tempting to pass up.I was surprised it lasted for about 2 days.I just hope it doesn't have dead pixels..as is my luck with lcd screens.

    Yup - ditto for me...

I was looking for a 14.1" or 15.4", bought an M-6851 from Costco which didn;t work out, and then got the M-6864FX from BB when they dropped it from $999 to $749, but kept it sealed waiting the 14 days to see if another deal popped up.

Apparently, I missed the first round at TD for $699 by not much...

When the 6860FX came around again but at $799, Dook basically convinced me - whether I think it's too big or not, it is TOO GOOD of a deal to pass up, and with the $80 back from live.com, it's even better!

Hopefully they get a few more for those that missed it - but not less than $799, please! :)

$800 is just about the same price you can get for it on Ebay now for a refurb.Mostly sold by people who got the $699 deal I bet.I probably wouldn't of gotten it if not for the cash back.Thank god theres still no tax for TD here in N.Y.(unlike stupid NewEgg). Also shipping is extremely reasonable and honest.
