I purchased one of these refurbished MX6421 notebooks over the weekend @ the TigerDirect outlet in Etobicoke, and for $419.97Cdn, this is a tremendous value for an entry-level general purpose notebook. I dropped in an additional 1Gb of RAM to bring it to 1.5Gb of PC-2700 333Mhz memory, and it is surprisingly fast for internet surfing and e-mailing. The 15.4" widescreen Ultrabright screen provides excellent viewing. The built-in wireless (based on Broadcom technology) connects consistently @ 54Mbps - no complaints there.

Only negative I can observe so far (during my short 2-day notebook burn-in) is the battery life of the included 6-cell Li-Ion battery is no more than 2-hours under steady notebook usage (internet, e-mailing, and running a Word document). I'm trying different power saving combinations, but don't realistically see getting any more than 2-hours of battery life - you can't get it all for the inexpensive price of $419.97Cdn!

The TigerDirect outlet still has Qty 6 of these refurb MX6421 notebooks available, so if you are in the Greater Toronto Area, and need an inexpensive mobile PC solution, you should pick one up! :)
