Gateway P-7915u FX at BestBuy $1,049.99

Is there anywhere else besides BB to order these in the U.S.?

 

The P-7908u was listed as available for purchase through TigerDirect and Amazon, but it is now listed as either "unavailable" or not yet released.

Thus far, the P-7915u is only listed on Best Buy's website as "back-ordered".

No one, not even Best Buy, seems to know when these laptops will become available and Gateway refuses to release information other than to say the laptops are not available at this time. This is becoming frustrating.

Just be patient. They will likely become available around Black Friday just in time for the Christmas shopping season.

 

I hope you're right because Black Friday isn't actually that far away. I already have one on order from BB and it just keeps saying backordered.

I'll let you guys know when my P-7915u ships... As soon as I'm done doing the Dance of Joy. LOL

 

I bought a house this year and decided to not wait till next tax season and just file an amendment on my tax return for last year to get the new home owner credit.

Since I'm getting the full $8,000 I planned on putting $1,000 in my daughters savings, paying off the only 2 credit cards I have. Getting a decent/good gaming laptop for under $1,500 and putting the rest in savings just incase.

So i've started looking around as I should be getting my check from the IRS here in the next few weeks. The previous P series laptops from gateway looked good to me and now these ones do also.

 

Man. Does anyone know when these are coming out?
Also, do they run as hot as the g51s from Asus?
Gateway has once again made an impressive deal...

But I gotta feeling that the slick palmrests on the interior of the machine are going to get extremely oily and smudged up with fingerprints. I hope they do something about that.

 

My order has shipped. They generated a tracking number, but it doesn't seem that it has info on it, yet. That'll probably change by tonight or the morning. Either way, I'll have mine soon.

 

Man, any chance this will hit the stores? I'd really like to get a hands on experience first before convincing my parentals to buy it.

 

Gilmour, when did you place your order? I bought a P-7915u from BB on 11/5 and it just keeps saying backordered.

 

I put my order in on October 25th.

 

Gilmour, few hours after my last post, BB has put a shipping confirmation for my order. Delivery was confirmed for today. I think those 79XX will become available very soon at stores. Thanks anyway!

 

I certainly hope they come in stores, but I don't think they will. I called my local Best Buy and the national headquarters and they both said something to the extent of "Online only will remain online only" and "We have no record of it coming". So, probably not, but those people often don't know what they're talking about.
