Gateways look nice. My brother in law bought one around 6 months ago.

Around 2 months ago it died on him. since then he has had to send it to the warranty depot 4 times and everytime it keeps coming back with new problems. Whoever "fixes" then does not even bother to turn on the laptop to test if it will pass BIOS/POST. Each time he had to pay for shipping to them.

Trust me you want to stay away from Gateway and Acer(who owns Gateway).

As with all notebook manufacture, different models will have different build qualities and it's often unwise to make generalizations for any particular brand.

Truth each model has i guess each quality of a notebook. By any chance is there some type of all if you return it ex amount of times you can get a full refund or something? I know there is the limes law with cars I wonder if there is something with computers.

    Hi David,

If you re-read my comment you will realize it's not about build quality. My comment has nothing to do with a particular manufacturer's build.

It is about Gateway's non-existant warranty. Anytime you have to send in your laptop 4 times for warranty repair with it coming back with new problems with some being so blatant like the laptop will not pass POST tells me the warranty is non-existant.
