$30 GC with 8GB iPod Touch
$40 GC with 16GB
$50 GC with 32GB
Not as good as the free iPod touch with Mac that students can get through Apple but given how rare deals on iPods are I'd say it's pretty decent. I wonder if they are trying to clear the 2nd gens to make way for a new model?

Nice find!
It is a decent deal..like you thought!
Getting a GC back for Best Buy is not a bad thing!

Some Best Buys are matching the back to school discount. They just discount the Ipod Touch so it's free and you don't have to deal with the mail-in rebate! If you can do this and get the gift card, that would be a pretty sweet deal!

(Thanks Cin!) -
You could get an iPod and then use the gift card toward an iTunes gift card, and basically get free music for your newly purchased iPod!

An alternative to this deal is you can get the 8GB touch at Target for $205. $5 more, but you aren't committing your $30 to be spent at BestBuy.
Given how seldom you see more than $10-$15 off a iPod touch and how many stores are discounting them right now I think they must be clearing out stock for some reason. Either the 3rd gen. is coming out sooner than expected or a price drop is coming to even out the price $130 price gap between the touch and the iPhone. Or maybe the free touch with Mac deal for students is hurting sales. Just seems old that so many would discount iPod touchs $25-30 all at the same time. I wish I didn't need one next week and I would wait and see. -
If you have enough money for the 16GB unit, get that one. I regret getting the 8gb. I need more room for movies and video podcasts...
