Newegg is offering a 2021 edition of the Gigabyte Aero 15 with $100 instant and $100 mail-in rebates. What sets this particular model apart is that it has a 1080p, 144 Hz screen as opposed to the 4K OLED panel for which the brand is more well-known. While it doesn't have a MUX switch like the recently refreshed Aorus 15G, this particular version of the Aero allegedly has Advanced Optimus, which is something that is still not offered on the OLED variants.

GPU power on this model is supposed to max out at 100W, and the laptop includes 16 GB of RAM with a 512 GB SSD, both of which are upgradable, along with the WiFi 6 module.

The $100 discount, which brings the price to $1,899, ends Monday, May 10, while the mail-in rebate is valid on purchases through May 31.

The Aero is thinner and lighter on account of the full metal chassis, along with having Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.1, per-key RGB on the keyboard, biometric authentication, and a much higher capacity battery. While Helios has USB-C charging and a better webcam placement, based on my previous experiences, I wouldn't touch an Acer laptop with a barge pole. Their monitors are awesome, though.
