I just wanted to throw this out there for people who is thinking of buying a new laptop. I know I would have appreciated it when I was looking for mine.

HP is offering a great deal on the new DV2000T.
I bought mine last week and this is what I saved:
    - $100 instant rebate
    - $50 mail-in-rebate
    - Free RAM upgrade from 512 MB to 1 GB
    - Free HDD upgrade from 60 GB to 80 GB (still I got the 100 GB)
    - Free shipping
    - Free all-in-one printer
    - And if you are a student, you get a 6% APP discount. (In my case it was $100 off the price).

My laptop was priced at $1,617.82 (with taxes) and I ended up paying around $1,280.00 (after free upgrades and rebates) plus a free printer.
I think that's a really good deal if you ask me.

For people who is wondering what system I got, here it is:
    Windows XP Pro
Intel Core Duo T2500 (2.0 GHz)
    14.1" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 800)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (I'm not a gamer) :)
    1.0 GB DDR2 SDRAM
100 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
    LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD+/-RW w/Double Layer
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network
    Bluetooth
    Remote Control
And many more standard features plus a beautiful 'piano black' glossy finish.

Just passing the voice around. Good luck.

Thanks for letting the folks know.

If it's the same printer that came with my DV8000z deal (HP 1410, I think) it's not that great - They said ink is about $28 and lasts for 150 pages - It's a decent scanner (but I already had one) and the copier function could be convenient.

But it was free on both deals, so can't complain too much.

I'm a student (entering college). Will there be an option when I go to buy the dv2000t that I can choose so I can get the extra 6% discount?
