look cool, and a good deal. I dont think my notebook has any kind of lock slot tho. nvm there it is in the back this little hole with a "k" on it.
I dont think I'll ever have much a use for it as i only use my notebook at work but.. heck its a good deal so why not. -
all notebooks have the Kensington (thats what the K denoted) lock slot... its standard.
I only used mine a couple of times when I am at a library or something... it freakin loud when the alarm does go off... pretty much scares anyone away from your notebook. -

Hmm I guess the "nooner" at that site is similar to woot.com where they have 1 sale a day for an item. So for the heck of it I went to see what they have going right now (I never remember)
check it out: http://www.woot.com/ it seems to be something that could be usefull for notebooks. Esp those who complane about really bad sound.
Question is how much better would these be over the laptop speakers...
I cant be going off on a spending spree but it looks neat. I did get the lock tho, at first I said no untill I looked up its specs on the offical page and found that the lock is 3ft almost. The picture on the site make it look like its only so many inches and has to lock thru a fixed metal loop thing.
Bikes that are locked down hardcore, they will steal the seat or flaten your tires ect ect. I never had the problem personally but I know it has happened.
I can just see sombody that wants to steal your notebook while your away for a minute, then they see the lock and get mad so they just ninja kick the screen off from the bottom assembly :/ -
the Woot tonight sucks... its like cheap ipod external speakers.
I check up all of the daily & semi-daily deals all the time.
Heres a cool site that includes them all:

very resourcefull! omg wow somebody is selling zip disk.... I remember when I thought that was a future technology and got a zip drive on my computer... I tossed all my zip disk out just a few months ago when cleaning the room.
-
LOL.. you will find the dumbest items in some of these deals.... must be backstocked and needs some serious liquidation.
-
UPDATE: about 2 hours left for this deal. get 'em if you want 'em
-
just bought one, this shop is awsome, and there is even a live service that saved my full of error invoce (due to this crappy keyboard...(ya..that's it...))
Anyway, SO eager to get this -
Just ordered mine. Unfortunately Google wouldn't let me apply my $10 discount (this was my first purchase). But I really like the Google Checkout process, very streamlined.
I have been wanting to get one of these for a while. There were a few free-after-rebate deals I found on low-end locks, and the cheapest I saw for these DEFCON 1 Ultras was for $45.99 new.
Nice find Gophn! -
Glad to see that some grabbed this great deal up.. its a great value for notebook security.
UPDATE: PacificGeek just updated their site, and made this item's price standard at $14.99... sweet.

Thank again. THe order status is now shipped(already?!
)
-
Yeah, mine still says shipped, but it doesn't provide a ship date nor a tracking number.
-
Would yall recommend this over a standard cable lock?
-
-
Ordered mine and for a friend , great catch Gophn , You are master of finding good deals , We owe you a lot especially regarding your HOT RAM DEALS sticky , i bet almost everyone in this Forum checked it at least once, LOL
-
does anyone got a tracking number on that item?
I talked to them 3 time on live chat, and yesterday they said they will email me a tracking number by the evening...well, now it's the morning and I still havent receive anythings...
Anyone experiment buy with this seller? -
This seller is very reputable... or I would have not listed them.
-
The reviews of that device on Amazon were not great. From what I saw there, it seems that it breaks easily.
The single review I was able to find on Newegg was also not great. -
I have had mine for over a year now... its taken a lot of abuse and still works fine.
-
Ordered July 17th, shipped July 20th, won't be here until July 26th.
-
Looks interesting. Anymore reviews on this?

oh well 15$ is too much if anything it will act as a theft deturant and thats all you really need sometimes.
-
Some of the complaints were that the unit would become more and more sensitive over time and start screaming for no reason. That's a deterrent alright... a deterrent to using the lock in the first place!
-
I bought this , its great Thank you Gophn
-
I just receive it...Prety nice little machine, exept that it is not the Targus Defcon1-ultra. It is the Defcon 1 from port. Build quality seem a little lower than the targus, and there is 3 insteed of 4 number. Overall It's nice for the price
THank again for the tip -
I got one, the Targus, for 5 bucks brand new at the Boeing Surplus Store a year ago or more
-
but... er... how do you like it?
-
Lol, honestly I never use it as much as I thought I would... I've never been too paranoid about the laptop i have right now (old compaq thing) - but that motion detector would have me feeling safe leaving it right on an open table in the airport... the siren is that loud, and the thing can be ultra sensitive if you put it on that mode.
HOT! Motion sensor lock - Targus DEFCON 1 Ultra for $14.99
