Don't forget than Duo have 20-30% shorter battery life than centrino model. Even with a 9 cells, the Aspire 5672 cannot go over 2.5 hours!

l just checked and its the same price on Newegg (not to mention l've never heard of super warehouse)
-
PMs draw 27 watts of power; duo cores draw 31 watts.
Is that 20-30% figure with or without the USB port bug? -
HP
DV1000 (centrino) : ~3.5 hours
DV1000T (Core Duo) : ~3.0 hours
Acer
ASXXXx (centrino based and 8 cells): 3.5 hours
AS5672 (Duo with 9 cells): 2.5-3.00 hours
And so on... Can you explain further what you meaned with the USB bug?

Theres a current bug that includes core duo laptops and windows where when a usb device is plugged in, theres a strange power-draw and the laptop can lose up to an hour of battery life. Theres articles on tomshardware about it. -
It's not a strange power draw. The usb device prevents the cpu from lowering to the appropriate power state, drawing more power than required.
