    l just checked and its the same price on Newegg (not to mention l've never heard of super warehouse)

    PMs draw 27 watts of power; duo cores draw 31 watts.

    Is that 20-30% figure with or without the USB port bug?

    I don't know for that but here some example :

    HP
    DV1000 (centrino) : ~3.5 hours
    DV1000T (Core Duo) : ~3.0 hours

    Acer
    ASXXXx (centrino based and 8 cells): 3.5 hours
    AS5672 (Duo with 9 cells): 2.5-3.00 hours

    Theres a current bug that includes core duo laptops and windows where when a usb device is plugged in, theres a strange power-draw and the laptop can lose up to an hour of battery life. Theres articles on tomshardware about it.

    It's not a strange power draw. The usb device prevents the cpu from lowering to the appropriate power state, drawing more power than required.
