No, bing is not eligible for use with academic or employee purchase pricing.

This is stated in the bing TOS.

It's still working. I'm returning my dm3 to reorder it. I only knew about 5%. Go to bing.com, search for "HP", click on first link, 20%.

Wow, the Envy 15 would actually be very competitive if you take 20% off.

only if you are buying a $600 product. A $2000 Envy 15 you still save $370.

I just used this to order an Envy 15, so I'll let you know if it shows up in my Bing cashback account. I have to admit it seems too good to be true, but if you click on the 20% link, it says '20% off' in the Cashback window and it takes you right to the page where you can select any of HP's personal notebook line.

    Ordered:

    HP Envy 15 w/i5-540M
    4GB RAM
    Anti-glare screen
    ATI HD 5830
    320GB SSD Drives
    2yr extended warranty
    External optical drive
Extra 6-cell battery (Slice is a bit too big for my taste)
System recovery CD for Win7 Home Premium
Logitech V220 Cordless mouse (too many complaints about the trackpad in these forums)

    Total: USD $2,443.17
    Shipping: Free
    Tax: None (hooray Delaware!)
    20% Cashback: $488.63
    Total: $1,954.54

The cashback purchase should 'appear' in my account within 2 days, even though it's 60 days before I actually get the money back as that's how Bing cashback usually works. Still, this basically meant that I could pick up the SSD option for what I otherwise was ready to pay for the regular disks!

Well, it's still 'pending' - I won't see the 500 bucks for two months. But that's fine with me. I feel like I just got away with robbing a bank.

    that's pretty awesome, guys.

only if HP had a 17" or 18" Envy. I would have been on it like white women on Tiger Woods.

this thought has crossed my mind...

my Envy configuration would be $2200 w/ two 160gb SSDs
    - $440 from BCB = 1760
sell the two 160gb SSDs for ~$400 each = $800
total price would be $960 for an envy

do you know if HP is using Intel G2 SSDs?

that's a big question. someone on the envy owner lounge said that HP is telling people that they are, but all previous information I'd seen says that they're mum on the subject and that you're just as likely to get G1s as you are to get G2s.
