I didn't quite know how to word the title, that's why I left it general.

What I'm wondering though is if there's any way to forecast/predict future "$_____ off" coupon codes. Still planning on ordering at the end of Jan (the 31st to be exact) and am just trying to figure out about how much I might be able to save (even an approx. figure would be aight).

It's basically based upon how much HP would need to spur sales. If they're selling a lot of laptops without coupon codes then they won't offer codes or at least offer codes for low $ off. Given the fact most consumers will not be buying in January, you can be fairly certain you'll see some good offers around that time -- you'll just have to check each morning and be patient for a few days if there's nothing at the exact time you want to order.
