That's the one. I live in Mass and they are being sold as a 'closeout' at the $794.99 price.
-
Awesome deal! Congrats!

That was a STEAL! I ordered one with the same EXACT specs a few months back minus the TV Tuner. With 30% off, it was still $1100+! I'd jump on it if I saw one at the deal you got!
Enjoy! -
$1200 by me.
-
so from $1500 to $800 on store online discount?

anyone else get in on this deal. The BB is my area does not have it - I wonder if they do some sort of store to store transfer?

Bump for the OP - how is the system? Any issues or features that you want to tell us about? Still trying to find one in my area.
-
Well, so far so good. Comes preloaded with 64 bit Vista and whatever issues that implies. Vista is very protective of the OS and much more intrusive than XP. For rookies it's great, for vets of the computer wars it's annoying. Seems pretty brisk. I'm encoding hd video on it now as I type this.
I did uninstall a lot of the preloaded apps. Norton and Slingbox are two.
The KB is full size or very very close to it and has a nice touch. It's my first 17" laptop and it's big, and fairly hefty. I don't do gaming so I can't help there but it displays HD mpg video with no dropped frames I can see. Picture quality is excellent. Does have a glossy screen so there can be reflections.
It has about every input/output you could want. The only two options it doesn't have are blu ray and HD TV tuner. It is also upgradable to the next gen of Intel processors. (I think).
So far I'm very happy with it after 3 days.

Just as a follow up - I was able to track a few down in Mass - though I am still trying to convince them to do a store to store transfer. Price is indeed marked down to $794.99.

I picked up a dv7-1025nr on clearance at Bestbuy for $794.99. The original price was $1499.99. Centrino2 P-8400, 4GB DDR2, 320GB 5400 rpm HDD, DVD multi, 512MB Nvidia 9600M GT, 17" Brightview Infinity 1680 x 1050, Vista 64 bit Home Premium. No bluetooth or tv tuner. It seemed like a good deal and I didn't want to pass it up. What do you think? Is it a decent machine?
-
$800 for that!!!!
I'd take it in a heartbeat. -
The price for this at bestbuy is now $1200.
-
Could we get a scan or pic of the receipt? That may help. What measures has anyone taken to get this price? This is the lappy I am going to get either way, but for 800 I'll get two!
-
I'm not allowed to post links yet, so you'll have to search.
Looks like in-store only. There are none in my area, but I will attempt to get them to lower the price. Can you post a scan or pic of the receipt? -
I was able to locate a store in Massachusetts (Marlborough) that had one. It is indeed 794.99, thought it was too good a deal to pass up so I bought it.
-
until when does this promotion takes place?
mb ill buy one on friday. -
I'm sure they'll have it at that price until they run out... You should probably rush if you want to get one, there are fewer and fewer stores that will have any left.
-
I'm in MA, and a few of my local stores had the same deal. Online it is still showing at $1199.99. I keep thinking that there has to be a catch for the $800 price. If I build it on the HP site, it is over $1500 plus shipping.
-
I just bought this laptop tonight, I'm also surprised at how low the price is and somewhat suspicious even. But everything looks good so far..
-
Wait is this at every Best Buy?
-
no only a few select best buys, you'd be hard pressed to find a best buy that sells it. I found only one in all of Massachusetts lol
-
Good deal,it looks great in the picture.Too bad I don't live close to or goto BB often,I never run into these fluke in store deals.
-
Gotta call around tomorrow. Anyone in the LA area have any luck by any chance?
-
Was there a special tag on it or something?
-
I might have to return my hdx16 and just get a slightly worse screen and no bluetooth or blu ray and save 300.
-
I found one in chicago, I live 3 hours away. I don't drive either.
I am tempted to talk someone into a road trip though. -
LOL. I still am suspicious. I'm surprised that this didn't more attention here. -
wow good info, thanks.

Good deal, I'm going to put this in the Deals forum.
I'm surprised it has the WSXGA+ screen - usually brick store laptops have the depressing WXGA/WXGA+ resolutions.
Definitely a great deal. -
Actually a repost.

Sorry about that. I'm new and didn't know about the bargain forum. In fact, I didn't even look!
-
Excellent deal though.
-
So no further info on how to get this price huh? I would really like to get some kinda proof to show BB.com and talk them into it.
-
-
Here is the deal as it was explained to me. This is a closeout. Closeout = Sell stock ON HAND until it's gone. Stock may vary by store. If one store has it at a different price they should honor the sale price. I didn't hear anything about price matching a store price to the WebSite. I suppose it couldn't hurt to try.
For those who need the visual proof...Here is the receipt>
Good luck in your search. This is the real deal. I've used it for about a week now and it is as advertised. I have no idea why such a good buy is being discounted so heavily but it is so if your interested take advantage of it.Attached Files:

ursa99, I shop at the Dedham BB regularly. I bought my 1025 at the Mansfield store. I also check out the Milford and North Attleboro stores if I'm nearby. We're practically neighbors.

Glad you got in on the deal.
