25% HP Direct Bing Cashback has returned. Who knows how long.

If you go to bing.com/cashback and choose "Cashback Stores", select "H" and find "HP Direct" click on it. It shows 10% on that page, but when you click on it, 25% shows up in the link window.

Several people at slickdeals.net have noted that 25% went through, so get it while it lasts!

For everyone on the fence about purchasing a notebook..... do it!!! Bing cashback is ending next month and it is very unlikely hp and bing will have another offer like this at 25%

True, but I'm finding that one can regularly find 200+ dollar coupons so unless you want a lappy over a grand its a wash. hell of a deal for an envy 17 though.

does this offer apply to everything? i tried adding the logitech z-2300 2.1 system into my cart and checkin out, but i don't see 25% off anywhere. is there something i did wrong? i'm not familiar with buying with bing cashback.

I was looking for a post by Cin' who is the all knowing on these things, and think she has a nice detailed one somewhere, but can't find it.

But it's quite simple really. Register an account at bing.com/cashback (BCB) Search at Bing.com or go through the retailer listing at bing.com/cashback. It will show a window in your browser and you login with your BCB account info, and it will redirect you to the site you selected. Make the purchase on thate website, best to use same email address for both Bing and the retailer to make sure you get your cashback. Nothing will show up on the site, but once you make the purchase, it will show up in your Bing Cashback account. You have a waiting period before you can cash it in though. Usually 30-60 days.

    That's not how it works.

You get BCB from Bing/Microsoft. They know this because when you're signed into Bing and click a cashback link you'll see a referral pop-up link that transitions you into the HP site.

I got my 25% BCB in less than 5 min after confirming my order. Awesome...I won't have to sweat over the stress of it not getting recognized.

dv6t SE. With ATI 5650 upgrade and highest i5-core upgrade.

I want to play Starcraft II. I'm not sure I needed the highest i5 but the Vostro I'm on now starts to lag if I play really intense custom games. Do you think this lappy is overkill given my budget is below 1g?

The only buyer's remorse I have is that last week HP had free upgrade to Blu-ray rom (this week its free upgrade to 500GB HD) and no USB 3.0.

I know you're waiting on an Envy 14 right? I thought about getting the Envy 15 but couldn't justify it.

Yes, waiting on Envy 14. I need something to replace both my M11x and Sager. I'd prefer sager power in a thin and light, but it's not gonna happen, but the Envy 14 is pretty darn close. CPU is probably as good as if not better than what I have and I hear the HD 5650 is close to the GTX 260m, at least based on benchmarks, and it weighs 2 lbs less, is half the height, and can last at least three times as long on battery. Sounds like a good deal IMHO.

It's on hold in case you decide to make a return.

Does anything happen to the cashback if my order is altered? For example if I call in to cancel/modify my order at which point HP offers a 10% discount...will my cashback be affected?

Also how often do you guys see +$200 dollar coupons for HP dv6t SEs? It's really bothering me right now that the lappy I ordered doesn't have blu-ray since I intend to sell it in the distant future.

Hey, are there any restrictions on what computer you can buy by HP? The 25% is off of the price after instant discounts correct? I have two choices, HP which is 25% searched through bing or HP Direct from bing cash back 10%. Are these different websites or should I be weary? And lastly should I do credit card or use paypal (any difference in regard to BCB?

    thank you guys!

    1. There should be no restrictions
    2. The 25% is after the instant discounts and before tax/shipping
    3. To get the 25% search "hp" on Bing and click on the banner, you will be directed to a page telling you you are earning 25% and asking for your email.
    4. I have always used a credit card but I am pretty sure PP would work

i did order a dv6z with BCB for a really good deal with the N930 and HD4650 but i decided to cancel that when i seen how poor the N930 processor did in a pc mag review of the dv6z

check it out... very disappointing results for this cpu

There has been discussion of it going on in the aftermarket upgrades subforum and most of us have come to the conclusion that it is not disappointing for the price. In benchmarks it performs roughly equal to the i5-520/540M, sometimes higher and sometimes lower, but is $80 and $130 cheaper, respectively. It is also $30 cheaper than the 430M and beats it in pretty much every benchmark I have seen. For the price you cannot expect it to compete with the i7's

Also, I personally don't think that BCB is going to go back up to 25% before it ends on July 30th. Just my opinion.

I think it will. Only reason I say that is because it has come every 2-4 weeks for the last four or five months. We have five weeks before end of BCB. Either way I'm waiting because I should be able to get 10% BCB either way or an HP coupon that is at least worth 10%, probably more.

I prefer Notebookcheck's compilation of averages over one review from a site I have never trusted much

Notebookcheck: AMD Phenom II X4 N930 Notebook Processor

Notebookcheck: Intel Core i5 540M Notebook Processor

Notebookcheck: Intel Core i5 430M Notebook Processor

Edit: Has anyone noticed that when you click the HP link under "Cashback Stores" that it still says 10-25%?

You could always order what you plan to order, see how much BCB you get when they send you the email within a few minutes of ordering, and if it isn't the 25% just cancel your order

Bumping this to see if there's any thoughts on when this might return, if at all, before cashback ends? D: I'm waiting on buying a new laptop, and the $400 off has too high a requirement for me; the next best thing seems to be $50 off coupons (or ~45 CB), and idk. That's cutting a bit too close to my maximum budget. I need cheap!

I'm thinking it will come back. But I'm also hoping not before July 14 personally because I won't have the funds available until then. lol. So yes I'm being selfish. Actually I could get one, but not with the 160GB SSD, but I'm still debating that over a Momentus XT anyhow.

from bing's cash back website FAQ:

Do I need to know anything specific about shopping with HP?

Yes, customer should note the following when shopping with HP:

    2. Entering a coupon code at the payment page will void your cashback. Also, beginning 10/2009, the Friends & Family program, HP Academy program, and the Employee Purchase Program can no longer be combined with cashback.
