This is a good deal, but too bad that it doesn't have a higher res screen.

Edit: Didn't see that this is a 12.1" machine. The Resolution is very good. I am using the same res on my X200 12.1".

It is the smaller HP 12.1"

If I had the money, I would go for it. It even has a SU9300. Although it is not the newest one, it is quite fast.

Guys - this has the 2.5" HDD and a 3-cell battery, so is the bottom spec. If are OK with refurb can get a far better deal.

    12.1" US$590 HP 2530P KS093UA SL9300-1.6 2GB 80GB-1.8" DVD GM45 1280x800 VB 1.7/6cell

There's SL9400-1.86 versions with the 2.5" HDD floating around for ~$650. Again with a 6-cell.

    I didn't know there were 1.8" and 2.5" versions of the 2530.

Yes, HP have model numbers with either:

1.8" HDD or SSD + optical drive.
    2.5" HDD, no optical drive.

The 2.5" model uses a 2530P optical bay caddy(shown). Gives an additional USB port tool. The Lenovo T400s uses the same drive setup.
