    Decent price, but I wouldn't buy one without also adding some kind of extended warranty. Looks like a 3-year plan with SquareTrade is around $200, which would still put this system well below $2,000.

    You also may be able to add any of these warranty extensions to the machine (HP calls them care packs):

    It is also possible to install the 120hz Chimei TN panel that MSI and Asus use, if you are adventurous.

    Picked up an Omen X17 open-box item from microcenter for ~1500, hell of a bargain even at 1900+. Repasted with GELID Extreme and off to the races!

    For those near a MicroCenter, just ask to see the open boxes. This one was brand spanking new. i had to peel wrap off of some components.

    Yeah, I don’t think I will ever purchase a new laptop again. Used/open box can be in great condition (with warranty) yet give you such a great deal.
