    Yes, I heard about those problems on some of HP's dv8 & dv5 series. A friend of got this model instead of the dv9 series at CompUSA about 3.5 weeks ago and she has not experience the problems mentioned and is quite happy with her purchase. Anyway, thanks for posting that link - at $680 I think it's still a decent price.

    I have been using a DV8408us as my main machine since 12/29/06. I can tell you that I have had no issues what so ever. :biggrin: :biggrin: Paid 895 after rebate at Compusa. I would buy two at 679. I like it much better than the DV9000. :biggrin:
