I have a question about HPs student discount. I have already ordered a DV5T, and I didn't know about the student discount. If I called I could probably get them to apply it. But here is the problem: my college isn't accredited yet and it seems that HP requires it to be according to the website. It is a new state college (a unit of the Georgia university system) and they have been granted candidacy for accreditation, which is 2/3 of the way. They fully expect it to be next December. Anyway, if I call and explain that, or email them, do you think they will be able to still give me a discount?

Also, how much of a discount is it anyway?

Nope, since your school isn't done with the process yet...

simply ask help from your friends who has a college email account from an accredited college/university.

I don't know anyone from another college to be honest. Could it still be worth a try? The only reason I ask is rather than just try because I usually get put on hold for like 15-20 minutes and I can't stand it. lol

I don't know about HP, but other brands student's discounts tend to be about the same as regular price when you use coupons.

The student discount isn't that great, about 6 - 8% depending on the model. You can use a HP Coupon to get a better deal most of the time.
