To: U.S. HP Employees

I have a refurbished Nook Color that I rooted into a Android tablet and have no issues with a refurbd' product. I also have a 32GB HP Touchpad, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a refurbished one, these are very nice tablets in my own opinion.

I suspect that many will be jumping on this, the TouchPad is a great tablet.
-
WebOS has been open sourced as well by HP so this will help build their userbase. Good deal.

What size screens do they have?

If I am awake I plan to try and snap up one of the 16GB ones and toy around with it. If I find I have no real use for it I am sure I can resell it easy for what I paid.
Not sure if I will go Android or WebOS with it. -
I have used my 32GB HP Touchpad roughly around 10 times. I don't have any interest in using it for Android since I already have two Android Tablets. If I had to do it over again I would not have purchased it.

Getting the Slashtop Remote app' when it was a free app' w/code was one of my fav apps!
HP to Contribute webOS to Open Source
And, yes there are still plenty of people out there looking to buy the Touchpad whether it be brand new or refurb. So, I am fairly certain that if you were to purchase and decide to sell you would get a decent price for it. -
it's up right now...but at full price.
Not sure what gives... -
yep, full price for me too. hm.
-
Will not risk it. -
Ya um 499 for the 16gb and 599 for the 32gb...
Edit: nevermind take that back didn't realize 7pm EST! But it is impossible to get one, all I see is the number sold constantly going up and whenever i try it times out or some other excuse. -
-
I guess they are employees and there's a code they have to cheapen it... -

eBAY chrashed...

Yeah, I'm stuck at the "Enter quantity you want to buy" screen.

$19 shipping and tax with a 90 day warranty? I'll pass. It won't be too long before Android tablets are selling for this.

What about purchasing the 16gb thru ebay.ca?

that was stupid. 20 minutes of eBay getting the ddos, followed by the thing being sold out.

I should have known .ca would have been better -

I was there way early all ready to go. Had one in cart even and saw the $99 price but never got past my cart.
Just 1.01 error or what ever it was.
By the time I got word of the ebay.ca trick they were sold out.
I had to go to ebay .ca and manually search the item to add it to my cart and it was "not available" just trying everything I quickly tried the item numbers for the 32GB.
First one did not work, but the 2nd one did.
In the moment of things and being extremely sleepy I bought it. I didn't really want to buy the 32GB as I wont need that much space and thats near 50% increase in cost.
Oh well I will play with it, and if it sucks I will sell it for most if not all I paid for it I hope.
Knowing my luck some much better tablets will be out soon that make this one crap and sell for $300 destroying all resell value. -
Only 2316 items and ebay turds out on us, couldn't get past quantity page...and if i did it was for an error
...oh well

-
Wow, that was hard.
I managed to get one 32GB from ebay.co.uk... -
wow... I've never seen ebay break like it just did....
-

.ca / co uk doesn't matter... doesn't work for me... still trying
they're probably about to run out too... this sucks. -

For next time I know, use alternate ebay to pay
I had no idea you can do that, also mobile apps apparently may work better.

i got to checkout, then it failed.
that was one of the stupidest experiences I've ever had. I'm glad I don't participate in black friday at retail stores. I imagine it would be similar. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Well Black Friday includes pepper spray, punching, bumper cars in the parking lot, a lot of standing and occasional death.
So even if you come up nil I think it was still not as bad as BF
Since I did have to get the 32GB model ill make this my on the go media center, lots of music & movies.
So that means I will probably be making some tutorials on how to encode movies for optimal playback on the tablet
Course I will hack mine to play .mkv and formats I prefer more than the traditional .mp4 -
But seriously, sell it to me for $200? -
got a 32GB one thank god. Black Friday couldnt be worse if they sell online like this. The shipping and tax make it $179 total.
-
Dammit I wasn't available to camp the site yesterday.
-
So glad they were sold out of these before I noticed this, otherwise my wallet would probably be much lighter right now... and I'm not sure I even have a use for one

Mine is due in Thursday.
I would never use a TP for productivity purposes, PC or Laptop all the way. However I think it will fit the gap between the two where I want only entertainment.
Music, Movies, Games, and just overall toy with it device
Good for places/situations that I could not easily take my laptop and set it up. A good smartphone is still a good fit for that for just one person but with having kids and all I think the larger screen is going to be a real benefit.
