As much as I love AMD, I somewhat agree here. Now if it was a Phenom II, it'd be gone in a heart beat (Newegg is having some insane combos with that... CPU + mobo for $185 after rebate!).

Oh and this is refurbed. Makes it less appealing.

would anyone believe I just scored this desktop today:

    Dell XPS
    Intel i7 920 Quad Core
    4GB Ram
    Radeon 4850
    640GB HDD
    Keyboard, Mouse, blah blah
    1 year in-home warranty

    ...for $570? :D

it's a refurb, but who cares? if you built this computer by hand, it would cost at least a couple hundred more.

Yeah but you'd get a reliable PSU, unlike the underpowered Dell models, and you'd also get a solid motherboard with more features, and a case with more airflow, and the ability to OC, and RAM with better timing and speed, etc. The extra money is worth it if you plan to OC and tweak the system, but if not, the Dell is a good deal comparatively, because you don't need the extra features.

interestingly enough, Dell PSU's are powered just fine. they're typically underrated on purpose. something like BMW engines.

but yea, for the price, it can't be beat. :)

I've had a few HP's and they all seem to work fine.

$450 for a quad core system that includes wireless seems like a good deal to me.

300W powersupply is more than enough for this quadcore machine. I run almost the exact same setup with a 250W OEM power supply. It runs great and I can overclock without a problem.

I have almost the exact same setup, except with 4Gig of crucial bullistix ram, 1x250GB hdd + 1x500GB HDD, Asus motherboard..etc
Also.. the price tag is about $100 cheaper.
