Are you sure that coupon works with the dv5t? I get an error: "The coupon entered does not apply to the items in your shopping cart. Please review the coupon for products included in this offer."

Rogue, I too am waiting for the 40% code :D

Just wondering, is it really worth it to spend $75 on the P7350? I thought the performance difference between that and the T5800 were minimal. Did you select it just for the battery adventage? I personally would add an extra gig of RAM. And has the 9600M GT always been an extra $50 or did they just change it (thought it was +$100)?

Wow, I am so noob... My total was $998... that's why it didn't work.
I decided to go ahead and purchase this laptop with the code :)

    EDIT
 Apparently my order cannot go through because "the financial institution that issued the following credit card did not authorize this purchase". I hope the coupon is still available tomorrow...

HP screws you for ram so it makes more sense to buy it later. The difference between a t5800 and P7350 is negligible while gaming because of the DDR2 9600 but the faster FSB and more cache certainly can't hurt. It makes more sense to spend your money on the screen, battery, or processor than to buy ram from HP.

Thanks for update. I am also however waiting on that 30-40% coupon. Hoping it shows up soon. Should be soon especially since CES is going on now and new laptops are being added/previewed.

Also keep in mind the minimum order amount with these coupons, sometimes they are over 1199 or over 1299 while the current 150 off stackable coupon is only 999+.

The 9600GT is usually a 200 dollar upgrade but for some reason it is 50 now.

4 gigs of mem from newegg is around 40 bucks, i just ordered a set to replace the 2 gigs HP includes with it.

Was looking at that while on HP.com......wondering if it's just a temporary glitch or not (in anticipation of a GPU refresh on a model higher up the line ;) )......

    I hope it stays at $50 :)
ahbuilder, I think if you configure to $999, you save a total of 30% after the instant rebate and this coupon.

allfiredup you are the man! Good thing I looked around before buying a new HP dv5t. You saved me another $150 instead of the other coupon I was going to use, which is only $30.

Hi Amerika- if the coupon is expired when you try to order again tomorrow, call HP Sales. A phone number should have been included in the notification that your transaction was declined. They have the authority to push that original order through including the coupon! If you're nice, they'll usually do it! :D

Hey guys, I just wanted to share my experience. I’m an EPP member and was trying to use this coupon, but it seems the coupons don’t work for EPP members online. I gave HP a call through my EPP 1-800 number to see if they would work something out. The person I spoke with said the coupon expired because it reached its limit. However, they were still going to give me a $100 instant rebate and then another $50 instant rebate once the laptop ships.

    So, after taxes and free shipping, this setup cost $756 ($1006 - $150 - $100 - $50 + $50 tax).

My configuration comes up $17 short of $999 and won't let me use the coupon. Do you think if I called up HP they would go ahed and apply the coupon anyway, or tell me no? I really don't want to spend a single cent more than I have to.

Either way, I am really hoping to order it in an hour or two.

Thanks allfiredup for the coupon code, and the advice. I ordered my dv5t this morning, and I can't wait for it to arrive. The extra $150 savings was the deciding factor. I've learned a lot in the few days since I found this website and have been reading posts. Everyone is so helpful. I'm sure I'll be asking lots more questions when I get my laptop.
