HP is definitely clearing stock of the old dv6/7. They have had tons of $300 off coupons recently and now this. Hopefully the new ones will be released this weekend, when all the current coupons expire.

What do you mean by old? These come with Intel Sandy Bridge? You mean old revision B? Well.. they "fixed" the issue by not using affected ports.

Wow. This is super tempting...if it had the 1920x1080 screen I'd definitely get it but since it doesn't, I think I'll stick with the sager N5160 :p

This would definitely be a good deal if the resolution was attractive.

I honestly don't understand why companies even bother with 1366 ...most users absolutely hate that resolution.

Most users here, sure, but not most users. 90% of users don't even know what resolution is and are fine with whatever they get.

And how is the audio, speakers on this DV6?
And how is this video card, Radeon HD 6770M compared to the 540M in sager np5160, for example?

the performance of an HP laptop for the money can't be beat. However, the resolution destroys any chance of a sale with me. I'd rather spend more money for less power but with better display like the Sony C-series with 2nd gen i5 and neon green color. 14" LED 1600x900.

Just fyi, you can always pay another $150 for the 1080p screen offered by HP. It's nice, but at that price point you might as well get a sager np8130
