Man... and I just send in my order for 25% cashback..![]()
-
OMFG, you just had to show me this, I am very sad right now...
My total with a P8600 3GB RAM and 250GB HDD 5400RPM came to $1149.95 with the $200 cashback from Ebay. -
What's the max amount of cashback per transaction?
-
It's $200. So it doesn't matter if you're getting 40% off on something that costs 1k anyways - you're still just gonna get back 200 not 400.
-
I have a couple of questions about this. First can we also use the $250 coupon along with this cuz that would be sweet. 2nd do u guys know if this will work for anyone or is there a limit of people that can do it.
-

you can use it an unlimited amount of times. but it will ONLY get you a max of 200 off of every purchase. but remember you STILL have to pay the whole amount first and get the cashback later.
I suspect that this deal is ONLY good for purchases that they do not have coupons on a whole lot - such as ink/toner/accessories. That's about it. You can get coupons that take off MUCH more off the computers during the rest of the year.
It's honestly sh!t in my opinon. Just like the majority of the other BF stuff. -
O ok thanks man they made it sound much better than it actually was. I thought i could buy a laptop and get 40% back thanks bro
-
-
All those that want a laptop will be best served by waiting for the major coupons...but obviously I can't guarantee that would happen again (release of coupons) but I suspect it will. don't quote me though... -
-
This works for everything. It is not like they never had cashback before, they just increased it for BF. Also you never get 40% off with HP. If you have coupon, great because it stacks. -
Coupons are not suppose to work. If you go to the HP forum, some of us already got emails from them saying they canceled the cashback. It was of course because we used coupons. I'm sure some people did get their cashbacks, but if I had to guess, MS will be cracking down on those who use coupons for future orders.
-
let me rephrase. In my previous post I meant to say that the best things to use this 40% off on were the items that you do not normally get coupons on. Like ink/toner/smartphone...whatever (because the usage of coupons for anything else would negate the cashback-however if you use cashback on its own you only get $200 off, which is far less than what the coupon will get you SO you are better off using coupons[for laptop purchases]). That's what I meant when I said ONLY....bad diction I know so reaplace only with BEST....imop.
Once again - COUPONS do NOT work with the 40% off.
And would somebody please confirm that they have received MORE THAN $200 cashback from HP recently due to the 25% cashback then constantly run..?!
If nobody can prove it than you are probably out of luck - coupons would be the best thing imop (when they are 30% off IF YOU ARE BUYING A LAPTOP). Otherwise - the cashback is kicka$$ for everything else. think about it. do the math. -
-
if you read the add it says right under the big 40% that it excludes transactions WITH COUPONS. what they will prob do it take away the normal discounts they give and then you will get 40 off. so the normal say 250 markdown ill bet will be gone with this in place so it will not really be a true 40% off but i could be wrong
-
I know in the Live terms it states it will not be combined with coupons but I need to go look for this $200 limit.
On other boards I have read where people used a coupon with the Live search and Live search cancels the payment so it would be the 40% off you are losing if you use a coupon. -
-
Oh and like they are talking about on slickdeals. Configure a few systems you would be interested in and mark down the price to compare tomorrow. They may jack up the prices. p
-
will be interesting tomm im not leaving the house all the deals i want are on line lol
-
Grr... is this for HP Home and Office only? I was all excited about decking out an HP 8730w, but I can't get that through the HP Direct site the MSN Live.com link sends me to (Home and Office).
-
I'm not misleading anybody. Prove me wrong. I'll be the first to retract everything I said. It would be awesome if you weren't capped at 200 - that would be an awesome deal. -
I wish someone would settle this whole "cap" business once and for all.
-
From what I've read on other forums there is not a cap on the HP deal. I think ms live has something like a $2500/yr cap.
-
The only cap I know of on Live.com cashback (bar eBay limitations) is a maximum of $2500 cashback a year. And if your last transaction you do with cashback takes you over that $2500 limit, you will still get the full amount of that last cashback:
Q: Is there a limit on how much cashback savings I can get?
A: You can earn up to $2,500 in cashback savings every calendar year! We want cashback rewards to go to a broad variety of consumers who search and shop on Live Search for their personal purchases. If a single purchase causes you to meet and also exceed this cap, you can still earn all the cashback savings associated with that purchase, provided that all other eligibility requirements are met.

If you look at my other postings on this board, I have already made mention. My last HP order, I used live cashback and would have gotten almost $400. What happened is the amount was canceled because I used a coupon, but it did show pending for nearly $400. So I know for a FACT you can get higher than $200. Again, $200 is the limit on eBay, not here with HP. HP does not have a limit when using live cashback other than the total limit. There is no per laptop limit.
-
Ill check this out tommorrow, I found a coupon code, but I think I should wait!
-
ok - well, I just hope for the sake of the people buying laptops hoping they'll get more than 200 back - that you guys are right...
And if you guys are right then, great!
I just like to make sure caveat emptor -
The problem is that people don't see the cashback on the HP website - it gets automatically deposited into the live.com account. So you can't know specifically how much you got back until later.
If this is REALLY 40% off of ANYTHING then HONESTLY this has got to be the deal of the century on these laptops - or anything else for that matter. HP has NEVER had a deal with 40% off to my recollection. This would be the first.
If somebody is on the fence about when the right time to buy would be - the right time to buy is NOW (well tomorrow) - providing the cashback is more than 200 of course. Good luck all and happy shopping. -
Well the thing is it's not really HP as so much as it's MS. HP has had 30% off. So for MS to cover say the final 10% that's not that far of a stretch. But anyways, as I said before, my last HP purchase, I used live cashback and it posted almost $400 (25%) but was later canceled since I was using a coupon then.
-
did they take off the deal? i no longer see it when i click the original link, no mention of 40%
-
Link works, it doesnt start until 7am PST though.
-
How do you know, I can't seem to find this anywhere. Just trying to find out if the 40% live.com deal is working or not (as of 8:53 AM EST it is not)
-
sonoritygenius Goddess of Laptops
7am PST = 10am EST is the start time
-
Unsuccessful getting to the HP site at 10am EST. It must be jammed up. Anyone having any luck? I'm refreshing like crazy.
-
sonoritygenius Goddess of Laptops
nope servers r clogged.. Live is down too
-
well, the disount is good for 12 hours. We have some time.
-
though it seems dumb, does the cash back work on mini-1000?
-
take a number
beats standing outside in the cold !
-
I would believe the mini-1000 is included, as long as you're able to get it in the Home&Home Office site. I did not see any restrictions as to what can be purchased on the site.

Need help please.
I am currently in the UK and when I go to live.com I get the UK HP site at the top of the list when I search on HP, HP.com, shopping.HP.com, etc...
I do not see the "Live Search cashback" link next to the "HP Official Store". I keep seeing the blasted UK HP sites instead (assuming the live.com cash back deal isn't offered in the UK). Any word of advise on how I can get this to work from a PC in the UK?
Attached is what I see on live.com when searching "HP"Attached Files:
-
-
I'm pretty sure the cashback is for America only.
-
UK does not have the cashback program. US only.
-
I think I figured it out. I need to change my region within live.com to the US (by clicking on "United Kingdom" in the top right corner and selecting a different region. I hate that about being in the UK. Google, Yahoo, Live.com all recognize where I am and by default launch the UK versions of their websites. Easy enough to change over to the US website, but a hassle none-the-less.
-
I get the following message when trying to link to the HP 40% off live.com cash back link:

Am I doing something wrong or is the server down? Is there anything I can do to make this link work or should I just wait an hour or two for traffic to die down a bit? Do you think it will stay log jammed the entire duration of the sale (only 12 hours I think)? If so, will repeatedly refreshing allow me to connect or is the system just plain down? I suspect everyone constantly refreshing is part of the problem!
I really want to take advantage of this deal as I am definitely buying a dv5t for my wife for X-mas, so saving some cash is virtually guaranteed if I can only get through! -
Man i want to take advantage of this huge deal. Live.com is down though
-
Live was hammered into the ground and seems HP grinds to a halt when you get to the notebooks
-
-
Apparently they're running up to $638 off of their higher-end desktops (yes, I know this is NBR) and they live.com link says +40% cashback, so I'm assuming that instant rebates and free upgrades do not constitute a coupon? Also, as far as the site goes, even regular HP's site is sloooooooowwwww, because I figured with the live.com link downtime, I could at least configure what I'm interesed in, and no dice.
-
I hope they don't "run out" of any items and either discontinue the offer, or ship items post X-mas. That would stink!
-
If I just refreshing constantly will that get me through or is the website down for everyone?
HP.com with Live.com cashback at 40% on BF
