For it to be this good of a deal, and apparently no one able to get into the site (i've been tryin for hours, refreshing every 5-10 minutes), I don't see how they're properly honoring the advertised sale. Think they'll extend it out of fairness, due to their servers being hammered? If not, sh*t's weak.

I had a few questions for those who have used cashback before:
    1. Do rebates and free upgrades violate the cashback?
    2. In what form is the payment received(e.g. cash, credit card)? Are they in installments(weekly, monthly, yearly)?
    3. Would you recommend this over deals from retailers?
    4. Is there anything else I should know?

    Thanks.

    1. No. The cashback is calculated from the total price (after instant rebate and discounts you've applied) excluding S&H and mail-in rebates. Free upgrades won't violate anything.

    2. You're cashback will be on your live.com account (create one if you haven't). You can request live.com to send the money to you by check, paypal, or have it transferred to your bank account electronically. It usually takes months before they can send you the full payment.

    3. Just think of it as this. Cashback is an extra bonus that you can tack on when you buy things. If the retailer is already discounted a product, you can discount it even more via cashback!

It seems to be working now. Perhaps it meant 7PM pst not AM?

And to add on to one of my questions, I was reading that any coupons and discounts caused other people's cashbacks to be nullified, just wanted to make sure that I could use the discounts they provide, can anyone confirm?

Tried all day, and couldn't get in successfully. Very unsatisfied that they would keep the deal going when everyone who wanted to couldn't even access the website because of issues on HP/Live.com's servers.

To be very honest... the ebay 30% cashback is easy and better, cause you can easily find a Asus notebook on ebay... if only my paypal is verified in term for me to use... I would have ignore all the trouble trying to get live.com to enter hp.com...

finally by 9:30 pm I was able to check out the dv5t for 775 delivered. Today received an email from MS saying that I have 290 of cashback.

The pitty thing is, my roommate wanted to get the same laptop with cashback, but by 10 pm it was to late.

Oh, of course I tried logging in at least 60 times to get the cashback...

AND I MISSED ONE radio button SAYING FREE UPGRADE TO 250GB from 160GB, WHAT AN IDIOT I AM :)
